Some are saying she's an intentional distraction from the other states and those running in it for the GOP.
Taking the spotlight away for whatever reasons they are.
I'm guessing it's based on policy issues and how much the GOP wouldn't change things from the Bush adminstration.

Been kinda busy helping a few friends learn the joys of Linux, plus playing around with my 3 PCs ....plus that old 13+ yr old P2 still running fine in the basement next to a landline! Not to mention hobby related matters cutting into TERB-time.......WNY is a hotbed of UTR hobby action lately.....hehehe.....:)

The phrase "separation of church and state" is not in the First Amendment. That was and still is her point. The phrase was contained in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut.

The First Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

If anything, this should prevent the government from interfering with religious public displays such as the Ten Commandments on a court house. After all, the First Amendment clearly prohibits the government from interfering with the "free exercise" of ones religious beliefs.
