Does anyone else find Bryant's behaviour odd when he was sitting in the back of the police cruiser??
Bryant is seeing his life flash in front of his eyes that's why. He was just realizeing where he was, what he has done, and now he's going into the system and he's losing it.
In looking at the video a few times:
Bryant is stopped, cyclist disobeys traffic law and comes flying up on the outside passing stopped cars and cutting in front of motorist. Cyclist should have stayed on right and waited in line like the rest of the cars, but instead, cyclist figures rules of the road don't apply to him and passes the stopped cars by crossing the yellow line and utilizing the oncoming lane as a way to get ahead in the traffic.
Now, that said, the construction had Bloor down to one lane in each direction which created an entirely different situation. I sure hope for that construction company's sake that they had the proper signage in place warning drivers (and cyclists alike) that there was constuction and lane restrictions ahead. MTO has very specific requirements for constricting traffic due to construction. (If proper signage was not in place, cyclist could have made the arguement that he did not understand the traffic implications and was actually in what would have normally been the westbound lane.)
Note how quickly cyclist swerves in front of motorist because the cyclist saw the oncoming traffic coming at him fast.
Motorist is infurated at the cyclist for cutting the line up and swerving right in front of him.
Cyclist is now stopped at light for whatever reason. (Not known in that video.) Bryant is furious that he has been both cut off and is now waiting at a green light. (Maybe cyclist wanted to turn right and was waiting for pedestrians, maybe cyclist is having at it with the motorist, maybe cyclist is inebriated and hasn't realized the light turned green, or maybe his foot just slipped off the pedal.
In either case, it doesn't really matter and it doesn't give Bryant the right to hit the gas and throw the cyclist up on his hood.
To me - Bryant is the one who escalated the situation, not the cyclist.
