I wanted to get a grill for the cottage and just wanted to know what is the best way to go. Any suggestions will be good. One of those propane ones in the backyard. Thanks in advance.

Weber

My last BBQ was a Weber.. after 15yrs I gave it to a friend in need, it still works like a charm. Even the electronic igniter works first time everytime.
My new one is you guessed it, a Weber.
Even cooking surface and very easy to clean. I will never own anything but :)

The EGG

Can't go wrong w Weber but not a fan of porcelain grills .... my preference by far is "the egg" if you really want to get into BBQing ... not inexpensive but worth it .... much higher heat from natural fuel .... next on my wish list is an authentic broiler water smoker. cheers.

All you need is a flame and grill, go for the cheapest thing you can find - they will all be landfill in a few years.
If you aren't in a rush, go with a couple of cinder blocks with a used grill across the top, buy a bag of charcoal and starter fluid.
Save the money for beer.

A checked them all out last year, ranging from mid-high gar bbq's to the high-end infrared models. I found the Napolean make to be the best overall for price, btu output and functionality. For me, the Weber models, albeit very good too, did not have practical working surface area use. Their table top areas were taken too much up with the control knobies. The Nqapoleon on the other hand, have their knobs located on a control panel along the fron face of the bbq, freeing all the left-right table surfaces areas for food preparation.

I think its worth the drive!

Thanks guys. All of your input has been very helpful. I am not exactly of the type to be a hardcore griller. I was just looking for something reliable and not too expensive to get the job done. I went into Canadian Tire and saw their Centro line. Are those any good? If it isn't then I will go for the Weber.

That's like comparing Kia to a Ferrari and I don't mean price. Go for the Weber
