I had my first experience with I-N. It was a little nerve racking. I had read the problems some of you had here and in Toronto so I enlisted some help.
Many thanks to gordw who helped me and who would have straightened things out I am sure if things had not worked out.
The original contact with I-N was ok. Then the problems started. The subsequent emails were VERY confusing. I did'nt know what was happening or what was expected of me. The problem was that they do not instruct you with clarity. For example, they made it sound like I had to confirm over the phone and gave a #. I phoned and it was the FRONT DESK AT THE HOTEL!!!! Needless to say I simply asked for directions, but then thought maybe they had a contact at the hotel. Anyway. They also give you a confirmation#. As it turns out you do not need it for anything. So why give it? I almost gave it to the guy at the front desk. It must be for something right? Wrong!
On the day in question I thought I was to get emailed with the room #. I waited and waited and waited. NO email. I am in the process of deleting all emails from I-N thinking the process got fucked up when for some unexplained reason I double checked a link they had provided. Bingo. The room#!!!! But it was by the grace of whatever power is out there that I did not delete that email and forget about the whole thing.
This leads me to think that much of the problem regarding noshows is really I-Ns' problem. I wonder how many out there are convinced that they have not been confirmed and do not show. Remember, when they update there confirmation link there is no indication of an incoming email or that the link has been updated. If I did not show up I-N would have had another story to tell berating me when I had nothing but the best intentions.
It would behoove I-N to GIVE US GOOD DIRECTIONS REGARDING WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN! I was at a loss right up to 15 minutes before show time and it was a miracle that I connected with Isabelle.
Thought telling you this might help some of you in the future. Watch the confirmation links -- they are updated but there is no indication it is being done. Good luck.
