(Edited copy of my previous post on merb on April 10.)
I have seen some pretty spectacular things happen during the evenings at Pigales (suprisingly on a slow day like Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday). This once dancer named Lauren with big cans came back after months of absence and from what I could see she must have pocketed $400+ easy in the two hours I was there. It was just one customer after another at $20/song. Then later on I saw Mariah standing by herself for 2 seconds but before I could make my move 2 other guys rushed in to try and take her for a dance. (BTW, what does Mariah see in that girlfriend of hers). Other nights it seems like the dancers at Pigales get no dances at all.
I can see why some of the daytime dancers do not like working the evenings. It could do a real number on your morale as a dancer to keep seeing the superstars making a killing and yourself having to rely on your share of the night's beer sales. Some of the really pathetic dancers actually walk up from downstairs periodically to make it look like they have been getting dances. Take note though that the competitiveness can work in your favour as a client. I have gotten some spectacular mileage out of $5 on a Friday night just because the dancer wants to show off in front of a crowd.
Perhaps some of the dancers have a really bad attitude towards average joe clients, and probably towards certain other dancers too. Mya and the one that dresses like Paris Hilton are just two that come to mind. Honestly though, some of the dancers that work there are just nut bars. They will treat you like a BF one night and then the next thing you know they will pretend they have never seen you before.
