Found a great site for getting rid of the various types of Adware and Spyware. It seems everytime you go on-line, you pick up something. It slows down your computer to the point where its ridiculous. Ad-Aware is designed to provide advanced protection from known Data-mining, aggressive advertising, Parasites, Scumware, selected traditional Trojans, Dialers, Malware, Browser hijackers, and tracking components. With the release of Ad-Aware SE Personal edition, manufactured by Lavasoft, it takes the fight against Spyware to the next level.

I do a full system scan about once a week. Its important to check for upgrades every week. The best thing is.......its free :) . They do offer an upgraded model at a price, but for most computer users, its not really necessary.

Give it a try and see the difference in the speed of your computer. I have
McAfee but it misses some of the Spyware and Adware out there.
Its Lavasoft Adaware SE personal at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

I have used Ad Aware and Spybot for sometime, My AV software (PC-Cillan)was expiring around Christmas so I updated to 2005, complete with Spyware Detection and Removal, ran the scan and I had over 600 entries of Spyware, even after using Ad Aware & Spybot.Needless to say, performance was hugely increased, I hadnt realized how slow my machine had gotten!

PC-Cillan does a great job of detection, it finds more entries then the others do

I have run some tests using each product first: Adaware , Spybot and PC-Cillan,
PC-Cillan always gets far more entries than the others do, in other words,If I run PC-Cillan first, the others find very little or no entries, If I run the others first, PC-Cillin still finds substantially more entries.

I wonder if we could file a class-action lawsuit against the largest spyware makers on the basis of us having to buy software just to get rid of THEIR software that we didnt ask for.
We'd probably win and put them out of business.

Also a good deterrent for the next guy who tries it.

Thanks for the sites. I had to clean out my pc the other day because it was running extreamly slow. Turns out that i had a bunch of bugs including one bug that took advantage of windows XP and shutdown my pc whenever i tried to remove it.
