Very nice place - most of it is pretty much brand new (major expansion a few years ago). Nice upscale restaurant (Shallows) with Harveys across the street as well as the Tucsons blues club, and Outback, Kelseys, Dennys within walking distance.

South end near the airport - not considered close to downtown.

Don't know about SPs. There's an Adams Motor Inn down the road a bit that has a reputation - but it's just your average motel style place.

"Very nice" is way over the top. "High end" is too. Its a motor hotel. Hockey tournaments stay there. Don't get me wrong, its a fine enough place. But its just an airport motor hotel, not a boutique hotel or even a medium-high-end chain. Ottawa is a small city - get a downtown hotel; its only a 20 minute drive from the airport. The Ottawa section on here has lots of recommendations for truly nice hotels in the downtown area.

Actually I thought it was pretty good, BUT

NOT SP friendly!

My guests and I had no problems, but could have.

The "Escorts" in the yellow pages are cut out, and sticker left, stating that hotel does NOT want escorts.

Then there is the big cross imbedded in the wall above the door !
(Offensive to a devout pagan like moi).

Also, the place is a bit of a maze. Likely a bad idea for an SP to ask directions to the correct elevators.

I liked it too.. but had to laugh when we checked the yellow pages to find that the escort pages were indeed ripped out and this sticker on the page!

Definitely not

an SP friendly hotel. I've never tested the hotel's policy. I base my statement on reading a couple of threads in the Ottawa section and everyone seemed unanimous, Escorts are not welcomed at there. I don't know what they do to deter visitors, but management definitely publices their view.
Anyway, if you need to be in the south of Ottawa, it looks like a decent hotel from the outside, newly renovated, well kept landscape. There are a couple of newer hotels closer to the airport, but only two. Another option is the Monterey and is a little west of the airport, is SP friendly, discrete access and a decent place.

I felt an uneasiness going in there but the fun I had made up for it. I'm sure a few bible thumpers were hot and bothered with all that moaning and screaming going on. I also thought the cross above the door was a nice touch while the 3 of us of were being so irreverent towards it.lol. And last but not least, the 5 pages being ripped out of the yellow pages with a nice courtesy message (see picture above it) stuck to it. ;)
