Belleisle Elementary School in New Brunswick has stopped singing O'Canada during its morning events for fear of upsetting"others"

One of the students a young girl is very upset at this having lost a relative in Afghanstan recently Singing O'Canada was her link to him.

I was in a Citizenship Court a few years back with my neighbours who were becoming Canadian Citizens,Both from the UK. When the service was over what did they all do SING O CANADA!!!!!!!!!

Some of these so called Civil Servants are too anal.

I can recall singing O Canada God Save the Queen and the Pledge of Allegance WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL IN THE 60'S.:mad:

If he is correct, Springfield has changed a very great deal over the past two and a quarter centuries, since it is located in one of the Military Loyalist Settlement areas along the middle Saint John River.

I don't believe that a civil servant would be to blame, least of all, a federal civil servant. Some sicko asshole who doesn't value their Canadian citizenship, I would think.

The New Brunswick Minister of Education Kelly Lamrock says that the Government of New Brunswick will likely impliment rules that require schools to play the national anthem on a daily basis. :)

It has absolutely nothing to do with "political correctness". 90% of the people who (mis)use the term "politically correct" are dumbasses who don't have a clue what it means.

This is another example confirming teachers hate Canada and hate Christians. Remember how every year teachers try to kill Christmas in the schools? I think that they also tried to kill Halloween.

We all know how the GREENERS feel about the War in Afghanistan, they want to troops out Many people in the area and who were on the various radio talk shows today feel this is his personal "dig" at the whole Afghanistan situation.

Like I said before some people are so wrapped up in their OWN agenda they forget the rest of the world. Wonder if this guy has the BALLS to set foot in the local ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION one Saturday afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!

The immigrants who come to Canada have NO PROBLEM of singing the National Anthem ASK ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still haven't heard a good reason for it and I don't believe for a second that other parents complained about singing it. This guy is just your typical tool of a pricipal at a small school trying to be important.

Teaching does tend to attract more than its fair share of nutbars. Is this because people who can't do a real job in the real world end up teaching?

Actually a lot of fine upstanding individuals enter the field of teaching as a career. I know, my sister is one of them...

The problem is, before long, the teachers union poisons their attitude about teaching and why they chose that career to begin with. The teachers union is the real culprit AKA "evil big brother" in this case...

This has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous. So, I walk into Belleisle Elementary School wearing my jacket with "Canada" and the red "Maple Leaf" on the back. The freaking principal said I was promoting hate and to get off school property. I told him to F.O. and said I am Canadian and Canada is my country.

Kids aren't 'forced' to sing anything. At worst, they stand there while the other kids sing the song.

But let's not get all frothy at the mouth, folks. As soon as someone says 'politically correct' everyone jumps on the slippery slope argument train and within a few posts it's OMG the immigrants are stealin' Christmas blah blah blah.

This guy's a moron, clearly not politically literate (despite running for a wannabe-major party), and this will all blow over when the actual provincial government steps in.

In the meantime, everyone who acts all butthurt because this guy pulled a retarded stunt is equally to blame. It's this kind of attention that these retards thrive on.
