This past summer my profession took me to the Ford plant in Oakville during their maintenance shutdown.

I was under the guidance of this guy up from Detroit and he was asking me what their was to see in Toronto if he brought his family up for a vacation since he had never been to Toronto.

One of the attractions I mentioned was the CN Tower, he'd never heard of it!

I thought that was odd considering Detroit is only 5 hours away.

I half expect Americans to be unaware of us. But more enlighten countries Australia and in Europe have not her of the CN tower yet it has been around for 32 years 30 of those years it has been the tallest tower that does not require guide wire supports. IMO it is still the tallest because the new tallest building is still unfinished and incomplete.

Detroit is pretty bad though you can almost see the CN Tower on a clear day

After CN Rail got out of land ownership, they unloaded the tower to Canada Lands Company, a federal Crown corporation. The CN name was kept, it now stands for Canada's National Tower rather than the original Canadian National Tower.

The letters CN are vague, I understand if people don't know where or what it is.
I'd put it on the overrated list as far as a tourist attraction, it's a bit of a ripoff but cool to see from a distance.
