From what I understand Keno draws are computer generated .
You guys think it's true? Well if so what about encore? Is it computer generated aswell? I dont think that any lottery game is controlled by the commissioner though. Back in the summer of 2004 the biggest jackpot i saw my neighbour win was the $250,000.00 Encore prize. He matched all 6 Encore numbers on his Keno ticket. Just imagine how much hobbying you can do for this cash? Therefore, remember to always say yes to Encore, even when you play Keno. :D

I think Keno is a computerized..... .I am almost 100% sure. You can call OLGC they will probably confirm as much, or check around the web, most likely you will find somethig to confirm that...They have 2 computers one for receiving the numbers from the tickets that people buy, the other to generate the results. There definitely seems to be an underlying formula in the Keno numbers generated. I am sure the formula can be defined in advance, that is not to say the person who defines the formula would know the exact numbers that will be generated.

i called the olg a few times and asked them what kind of machine is used and they told me ALL the Ontario and National draws , are done using physical ball sets and rotating machines.

Currently the draws are done at different locations using different machine - but i think the CFTO tv station draws will be moved to the Main Dundas st location soon.

ALL Ontario draws + 649 + S7=
Wed., Fri., and Sat., would all be done at CFTO also with one machine

+
ALL Ontario draws =
then all other days ie, Sun, Mon, Tue, Thu with another machine machine

+
All Ontario draws=
a random Sunday in each month =
is done at the Olg emergency backup location in Mississauga using another machine

OLG HAS TWO CASES OF BALLS, COIN IS FLIPPED EACH NIGHT TO DETERMINE WHICH BALL CASE IS USED

This from a letter sent to Olg and their reply:

"As you know we do all the OLG draws on one machine at each site. There are still three, in the studio at CTV-Toronto on Wed, Fri & Sat, in the window on Dundas on Mon, Tue,Thu and Sun*. One Sunday a month we do the draws in the Mississauga warehouse. However, every night we show all the draws on the 29 foot LED screen at Dundas.

With one machine we first load in 10 balls numbered 0 to 9 and by drawing one digit at a time and reloading we do Pick-3, Pick-4 and Encore. (14 ball drops). Then we remove the ten balls and depending on the night load in balls as needed. So Saturday night we start with 45 balls for Lottario and EarlyBird, then add 46, 47, 48 & 49 for Ontario 49. Then we add 50 to 70 for Daily Keno. On Thursday we add 71 to 77 to draw PayDay.

Yes there has been a really hard look at costs. Because operating three sites is difficult and CTV is the most expensive we're talking about shutting it down and just going with two sites. So some day all draws will take place at Dundas except for once a month when we'd still run from Mississauga to ensure the back-up site is always ready to go.

I was thinking of running the OLG draws on the Lantana and the Lotto draws on the Tulipe but it was suggested to get a new style machine and do all draws on one.

Does Ryo Catteau have a new model that could do what we want?"

hope this helps guys. I would think that a machine ball combo would possible demonstrate a quirk that could lead to a pattern more than an electronic system, but they throw different machine and ball sets in the mix to confuse us.

Thanks for sharing the info..after my posting above I had noticed at the OLG website that they do indeed use balls to draw Keno numbers. What I find interesting is that they add balls 50-70 after the 649 draws because for some strange reason I had noticed over the weekend in many draws the lower numbers seem to be favoured..but most likely that's just my imagination. Also the back-up machine in Mississauga, it would interesting if we could know in advance on what days they would be using that machine.

I have a friend that worked at OLG.. back then OLGC...
and he said the security on those machines and the balls are insane...
Everytime the ball is drawn, they have like 5+ people present...
I think he said lawyers, police and olg staff...
I'll have to ask him again.

Basically no one will be able to tamper with the machines or balls...ever.
