Best Place To Buy A Suit ?

I'm not sure if this question has been asked and I did search for it and came up empty. So, to those who are into fashion and in particular purchasing suits as I'm thinking in the $500 to $600 range. Are there any stores that sell Armani or Caneli or Boss suits priced somewhat reasonable than a store such as Harry Rosens? I was told Cory's on the Danforth has nice suits!

This is a wedding I'll be attending and the trend these days is wearing a suit without a tie although I don't plan on doing that for this wedding.

Thanks to all! :)

Try Tom's in Kensigton market.

Or if you are going to Montreal anytime before the wedding, there are many stores on St Catherines that have designer suits at prices cheaper than you will get in Toronto.

I'm looking for something different and not just your typical navy or dark suit. Not sure if pin stripped suits are that trendy anymore and I was looking for a real nice light grey suit or something real nice but not dark in color.

Fall is coming but you can still get away with light colored suits.

A "Caneli" for under $500...yes. A Canali...no! Cory's on the Danforth is good place to check out. You can get Tommy Hilfigers in the range you mentioned.
If you can't afford designer label clothes save money until you can. Don't live beyond your means. I'm not saying this to put you down but actually giving friendly advice 'coz i've seen my friends live beyond their means and then complain about not having money. That was probably off topic. Sorry.

Because I spell "CANALI" incorrectly you assume I can't afford it or something?
Dude, this isn't a spelling b contest, is it?

Thinking about it now, Caraceni is a better suit than "Canali" and so is Ermenegildo Zegna or Hugo Boss.

Did I spell those names correctly?

COB,

As MrLuvr mentioned, Tom's Place is a good bet. I own two suits and I got them both at Tom's. You can get suits that are similar to designer suits quality at below designer prices. I paid about $600 per suit. Plus, Tom is negotiable on prices. You can bargain with him.

I've never been to Corby's, though. It's probably a bit cheaper than Rosen's, given that rent on the danforth is cheaper than Bloor St. W.

If Heritage Fine Clothing, north side of Lawrence, East of Dufferin, is still open and in business, try there. I picked up a superb Tommy Hilfiger suit for half price, for a wedding i attended in Italy three years ago.

Hope this helps.

Hey thanks man!

At least we have some people with common sense here and not some hippie Frank Zappa freak with no brain.

There is a great place at in a strip mall just north of Yonge Street on Steeles. It is an outlet store that sells all items that were either left on the rack or returned from Holt Renfrew, one of those two places. It has everything from sport jackets to full suits at great prices. This place is called Last Call. This place is a gem that not many know about. They also have lots of stuff for women if you happen to like to go shopping with your girlfriend or wife. It is an outlet store so remember the shopping can get vicious and busy. I have copied the address and number for you. Hope you find the place.

Yeah if you do check it out let me know if the stuff is good. I haven't been there myself in a long time, and I would like to know if the inventory or setup has changed. Last time I went it was a mad house. People were fighting for the stuff. Cause they do have all the name brands, Armani, Hugo, YSL, Canali, Ralph Lauren, Zegna etc. and the stock is limited. If you see something you like grab it right away. Happy hunting fellow TERBite.

I don't often shop for suits, especially designer, just prefer a hot female companion in my arm instead... ;)

Kidding aside, I drive-by this place. It's a zoo in that section on weekends but doesn't look overly busy at night (after rush-hour of course).

This place is nice but too many guys know about it so if you have a common suit size 40-44 then you are out of luck.

Harry's used to have an outlet in Mississauga that had good deals but I am not sure if it is around anymore as I don't see the ads that usually plague the Saturday Star.

If you are looking to buy a suit from Harry's then the best times are in May and November. Also they have a good selection of shirt thaat are drastically reduced at the same time along with other accessories.

Tom's place would be your best bet and they always haggle so you can save a few bucks especially if you are buying more than one suit and/or accessories. Tom's usually has sales at the JCC twice a year and I believe you just missed one of them. You just missed a sale at Tom's but he may still be able to do you a good deal since it just ended Sept 4th.

Cory's on the Danforth also has a good selection but it is always best to go when they have sales.

Armani, that is the GA Collezioni brand, and the Canali would be hard to find under $1,000 on sale. Zegna would also follow in the higher price range.

Hugo Boss can be had on sale in the $600 area, it is not uncommon but they are usually last seasons stuff which for men really doesn't mean too much.

For the price range that you mention you could go for a Tommy Hilfiger or an Arnold Brant.

You would think that someone using the handle "Chairman of the Board" would be able to afford to shop at Harry Rosen and tell everyone else where to buy a quality suit.

I have never been to this place. Do they have all the sizes. I mean I am 50R to 54R depending on the cut and brand of suit. I get most of my stuff custom made anyways, but I wouldn't mind checking this place out. What is the closest interesction?

Another loser ruining a thread that others are contributing quality recommendations. Have you noticed that? I didn't think so...

Stand in line with your buddy Winston at the Salvation Army for his hamydowns, you'll be just fine there junior.

Good God, don't you have anything better to do with your time then act like a troll and make pointless remarks?

You'd think you'd learn a thing or two after 3000 + posts!
