Yes another one. Where is the best ******* thread.

Thinking of going somewhere this Sunday (Easter Sunday) with one or two LFs to a buffet/brunch. Was thinking of The Manderin @ Yonge & Eg... but have been there 1/2 dozen times over past few months and I'm thinking on Easter Sunday there may be a long line-up or wait for a table.

Any suggestions? Prefer downtown or somewhere close to the subway line.

Thanks in advance.

Best Brunch

King Eddy or Hotel Intercontinental . . .both are a bit pricey, but the quality is unsurpassed.

Thanks. I'll keep those in mind , but your right maybe a bit pricy for what I'm looking for. Besides don't think I could wear my Kenora Dinner Jacket there. <LOL>

I'm thinking a budget of $15. to $20. each plus drinks. $80 - $100. tops for all three of us.

Too bad Chez Cora or Cora's as it's known in T.O. is no where near level of its Quebec chain. Chez Cora in Montreal are amazing.

Some like www.hothousecafe.com on Yonge Good value.

I prefer brunch by beaches. Like Sunset Grill and few others just west of them on Queen, north side. And then a nice sunday stroll on the boardwalk or to Licks for some ice cream.

Mar's on College is decent for local greasy spoon feel.

In Suburb, around $40 Hilton Suite Hotel in Markham has great Seafood buffet (w/Lobster & Alks King Crabs). Sheraton on Hwy 7 Richmondhill is about $36 also Seafood buffet.

BTW, Mandarin fans should try http://www.chinabuffetking.com/ at Richmondhill on Yonge better selection, more sushi, and less westernize Chinese food.

Thx for the tip, how is the crowds though? Recently I went to the Mandarin at Woodbine and it was absolutely insane. People were tripping over each other and the whole thing was a rather unpleasant experience.

Thanks Goodtime. I took a look at the menu etc and this is exactly what I was looking for. Location is good too. Can walk there from Union Stn. Then maybe go for walk down to the waterfront later. :)

Yeah, the Old Mill is superb, hefty price though. We have become fond of an all you can eat sushi place called Masa. It's in the comfort Inn at Younge and St. Charles. I don't know how early they open though ...

Between a rock and a hard place
Mother Tuckers in Scarborough - Warden and Eglinton still open?
How about Town and Country Steeles and Woodbine? Been about 10 years since I went to either of those.
About 2 years since I went to Bloomsbury's with the buffet and individual stations where you find my favorites like smoked meat, mussels, and jumbo Belgian waffles. They have weekend brunch for about 12 bucks. At leslie and York Mills 4777 Leslie St. 416-497-1600

I don't know if it's a classical brunch perse (i.e. line up at the troff)

But, Mitzi's is amazing for Sunday morning fare.

It's in a very strange location - Sarauran Ave and Pearson Ave, north of Queen in a completely residential neighbourhood. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never find it. (Close to Roncessvailles and Queen).

Breakfest there is the best in the city and prices are reasonable.

Be prepared to wait, I don't think they take reservations, but the weather is getting better (you pretty much wait outside).

If you want to look like Joe Urban Dude, and you want a cool, out of the way cafe to impress, seriously, Mitzi's is the place to go.

After breaky, you can wander up Roncessvailles, or over to the Antique section of Queen. Guaranteed to get you laid.

PS, I can't even imagine someone suggesting the Mandarin or Tucker's Market for Sunday brunch. I like the Mandarin for day to day lunch, but that's about it.

Mom Tuck is still there. Haven't been in ages.

Town & Country is now a Korean Buffet. No big deal.

Heard Bloomsbury gone downhill since they moved.

Actually Doinker the Town & Country at Dixie/Dundas is gone... shame too I liked that place. But the one on on Queens Quay (in railway cars) is still open I think.

How's eggspection GTA? Their Que location is amazing.

Went to Cora's Newmarket. Sub-par as compare with Montreal parent.

Dim Sum ........ Place by Spadina and Dundas, just east of spadina on the north side, it's a place you have to go upstairs. There is usually some old chinese dude selling newspapers out front and it's the best Dim Sum EVER, two people can eat like kings for about $20. Sorry Nitehawk, I don't know the english name for the place :)
There's several, are you referring to the old International Restaurant (with Elevator) between Huron & Beverley?
