I've met Robert Herjavec several times and was a business partner at both Brak and Herjavec Group. If Robert lips are moving, assume he is exaggerating to an extreme or manipulating. The stories I could tell, but several could be personally identifying.
Robert is a charismatic, smart, charming man of small stature and MASSIVE EGO. He loves to talk about himself, his accomplishments and his cars (claims the value of the wheels and tires on his lambo is more than a typical NA car). His office walls are full of pictures of the stars that "borrowed" his home (Jagger, Madonna, Travolta), business awards, articles in magazines about him, etc. He claims to know every major CEO in IT, blah, blah. He can talk about himself for 59 minutes of an hour meeting. I swear if I heard that vacuum story one more time, I'd ..........
I've been involved in a few sales meetings with him and his team and he's quick to crap all over his own people on what a poor job they did, but Robert himself closes deals not by brilliant negotiation or selling of value/features, but often with discounts (and then tries to force the partner (me) into protecting his margins)
I know, I'm a nobody commenting on an anonymous bulletin board, but if/when other people comment, there will be a long history of sleaze/manipulation/take advantage-of of his personal and business partners and employees for his personal gain. Not in a crafty, outsmarting business way, but in a grey truth, take advantage, try to renegotiate existing contracts kind of way. For example, he wasn't the founder of Brak, he talked his way into the company and through manipulation of his trusting partners got more than his fair share of the profits from selling it to AT&T (or was it Allstream at the time?), I can't say too much more.
I am NOT saying Herjavec is dishonest, I think he probably does everything legally and doesn't push the limits in that way.
