How Do You Pick Your Numbers For Lottery Tickets?

The problem with birthdays is there are less numbers to pick (ie over 31 if using days) and lots of people arrarently do this s if you win you are more likely to split a prize - random is random so quick pick for me, but I only buy tickets occasionally - big draws. I heard once the best 'value' for playing a lottery is when the cost to enter is less than the main prize.How Do You Pick Your Numbers For Lottery Tickets? Do you use quick pick or do you just pick random numbers? Do you have another method like birthdays? And do you think it matters how you pick your numbers?
This is kinda-sorta what I use. Nothing specific (e.g. dates), but I check that my potential numbers have never come up. With the right tools, I make sure that they have never won the jackpot, second prize, or third prize. 4/6 is okay, but dependent on my mood, I may eliminate combinations that have paid out too much/often.I have 2 sets of numbers that I play for Lotto Max and 6/49. One is Birthdays and wedding numbers. The other are my favourite Leaf Players. For both draws my set of numbers have never come up in the history of the games.
