Hey, I just wanted to give anyone who might want to attend this show at the international centre this weekend to skip it and save themselves the $14.00 admission.

It is only about the size of your average Home Depot and frankly totally sucked. I am shopping for a new delta table saw and was advised to go to this show to get great discounts but they only had maybe 3, and they were all the same price as I saw in the store.

Nothing really new or innovative either mostly just stores trying to sell stuff.

ACK! Thanks for the heads up! I like the looks of the Delta hybrid. Are you looking at the new Unisaw? WOW!

I have one of the contractor tablesaws with cast iron wings. It does the job but could use a more accurate fence like a biesemeyer.

Yeah, I actually bought the 36-750 which is really just a 36-717 with the 52" Biesmeyer fence. It also came with the osborne(esque) mitre gauge.

Getting it delivered tomorrow (didn't buy it at the show, bought it at atlas machnery for $300.00 less than the going price) Plus I get $680 worth of Bessey K body clamps......

Best woodworking tools in the world are the ones you are comfortable with.

I love the convince of the power nailers and power miters. Table saws have their place as do radial arms. Molding kits are a huge plus in the right hands.

If you are a home owner you do not need the high end contractor grade but you do need a tool with tight specs to ensure a proper job.

Harbor Freight has some nice tools but they also have crap. Sears is about the same.

Using the right tool for the job is cool but improvising is the sign of a ro when you do it right. Myself i can use an angle grinder to smooth rough grain on a deck before i finish sand it. But I would never suggest it to most people as a way to close grains.

Timberline Tools is another great place but the shipping of a machine like a table saw is cost prohibitive. In fact, I checked all over the with the exchange rate, table saws aren't any cheaper than here. In the case of the 750, it actually costs more to buy from the US.

Nobody mentioned the SawStop saw yet: http://www.sawstop.com

If you're not familiar with the technology make sure you watch the video in the upper right of the web site.

Amazing safety and a rock-solid saw too.

I beleive they tried to sell the technology to the big OEMs but they didn't bite.....

As for the quality of the machines, I'll wait until they've been around for a few years before believing that....

I hear you, I went to this same one 4 years ago and every manufacturer had all their equipment on display. Delta for eg has about 20 models of table saws, they only had ONE in their booth.

The last time I was at this show it was easily 4 times the size......
