Why do people put ignore lists in their signature?

I have a few on ignore. It is a great feature. I support the feature. I think it can be used in healthy ways and is something needed on forums like this.

What I don’t get, why broadcast who is on your ignore list in your signature? I have seen this with quite a few posters now.

Is this so the people on ignore know they are? Do you think they really care if they are or not? Do you think they will plead to get off your list? LOL

Is it to let other people know so that is someone on your list is bugging to trying and reach you, they can tell you?

Before the new board and its new feature, I know people who purposely quote an ignored person so that others would be able to view the ignore posts but with the new system, even quotes of ignore people don’t show up.

So what is the point?

I do it so that they know not to bother replying to my posts.
And if they do still reply, they will know why there is no response. It isn't because they won.

But if you have them on ignore, why do you care if they know why they are not getting a reply? Or help stop them from bothering to reply in the first place?

People I have on ignore, I could give two shits if they know, don’t know, respond in the future or don’t.

It’s like caring what you ex does, no? Once their are out, they are out of my mind period.

This is just me. I’m not saying what you do it right or wrong in anyway. Just curious on this boring Sunday morning.

I don't care about saving them time.
I guess it is because some of them are so pathetic, I don't want to help them derive pleasure by thinking that the lack of response means they are too witty for me.

So it’s to make sure they know they haven’t won. So really it is prolonging the same fight. Forcing the permanent last word in your mind.

You do know in theirs, they will keep talking and thinking they have the last word right?

You can’t change other people’s thinking. TeeJay thinks he wins all the time. Just an example.

Again, not right or wrong but insightful. Thanks.

Anyone else willing to share?

I put myself on my ignore list to see if it would hurt my feelings, I'm not sure if myself upset myself because myself is not talking to myself so I will have to wait and see.

That's an arrogant response...I don't think anybody on your ignore list is going thru any amount of suffering from it.
I think it is more honest then arrogant.

I don’t think he is saying they are suffering at all. Just that he doesn’t want to give them satisfaction of thinking they have one-upped him when they make comments that he doesn’t respond too.

I get that. But I think it is more about the others not on the list reading. For example, I see a comment being made to him and I may think it is was a good one because they stumped him based on lack of reply. Seeing they are on his ignore list would let me know he will not have even seen it so I can’t really give credit to the ignored member because is not a two way dialogue. If that made any fucking sense

Yeah, kinda what you do most of the time 😂
You are off your game Phil. What’s going on? These last couple of attempted jokes were kinda lame.

I’ll give it a pass today because it is Sunday but you need to work a little harder next time.

Well said.

I don't see where I said anything about suffering.
That is an absurd interpretation.

Oh I don't know. Why don't people spell check their thread titles?

Cuz some people can’t let go and have no real lives.

The ignored post still show up as "IGNORED POST - CLICK TO VIEW".

If the person was truly ignored, then the post would never show up at all, like it doesn't even exist.

This happened during the last time I ignored someone, not sure now.

UPDATE.

I ignored Jenesis as an experiment.

Her posts completely disappeared. Including this entire thread.

I saw a sign in another thread "ignored member", then I unignored her and the post reappeared.

Thanks for reading.

Because then you would have nothing do to on a Sunday morning. See how I think of you and put your needs first. :ROFLMAO:

I don't understand why anyone would put someone on ignore. I never have even though some folks I think are complete dumbasses and ignorant individuals.

I purposely quoted this post for a reason, shhhhhh. To tell the truth, I actually am entertained by the train wrecks.

I believe I may have made Conspiracyman's ignore list and at first I was devastated but then I remembered and realized he sees my jabs with his other handles which I won't name. SP "cough", no I won't do it because that would be like placing a "decoy" in my post and I refuse to play that game.
