What do you think would be a proper consequence for Ford's government?

They used to be the Progressive Conservatives: the Forward-Backward party. Now they have become the Sucking and Blowing Party. Can't make a difficult decision, then make a half-assed one, then back off and then are stuck in the COVID black hole. Horrendous bullshitting by Ford and his crew of lackeys.

Ford is no better and no worse than the rest of the politicians. Nothing will happen to Ford just like nothing will happen to JT, Canadians are ok with meh for everything and as a result, our politicians are meh. We got the government that we deserved. How Canada will end up will primarily be determined by the generosity of the US.

Arm chair quarterbacks claim to know what should be done, but the truth is , this the first pandemic of this sort and there is no roadmap. Most governments around the world can be criticized for their response. Ford and Trudeau are somewhere in the middle and I would cut them both some slack.

Ford should be hammered at the polls. Its pretty clear how much better Patrick Brown would have been then DOFO.

Hell no!

Ford is nothing but a bulldozer and wrecking ball on behalf of land developers.

Ford has consistently put non retail business interests ahead of the public health during the pandemic. Repeatedly and willfully late enacting feeble and flawed restrictions and willfully early to lift restrictions. A frickin teeter totter. The definition of insane: repeatedly doing the same and expecting different results.

First, any political party is shit. We're fucked next election no matter the level.

They promise the world and leave us holding the bag. This is world wide.

Politicians ONLY take care of their donators and special interest groups. Never us.

Ford and his party, along with any party in power right now should have a consequence of living off a common persons wage during the many lockdowns and job loses.

Have them feel what it feels like to wonder if you'll have a job or money to pay the bills tomorrow.

Have them feel what we feel with loss of freedoms.

Have them pay huge fines for opening their business to feed their children because they dont qualify for assistance.

They need to feel what many of Canada are feeling and go through what we go through with job uncertainty,

I could go on but the best consequence would be to fine them or take their salary away for every day under lockdown to start!

You would like New Zealand , They raised the minimum wage to $20 and taxed the rich.
Not only did New Zealand do this, the politicians ALL took a 20% pay cut in solidarity with essential workers, we can only dream that our political establishment had such integrity and courage !

Politicans are habitual line tow-ers...they are not here to be bffs with anybody...it's a dirty business and anybody with some sort of integrity can't stomach being a politician....

I believe the politicians in NZ make about $300,000.

$60,000 cut is a start. But $240,000 take home is still a slap in the face to the people.

Hey, I have a great idea! Since you are so full of criticism for anyone working and earning a living, why don't you run for office? See if your bluster and ideas can get you voted in. If you actually get in, then you can slash your salary and everyone else's as you see fit.

I'd pay a few buck more if our politicians had listened to medical advice instead of thinking about getting re-elected and were as successful with covid as they were.

Doug Ford said he didn't know the third wave would get this bad: "It was different than the experts told me last week" (April,7 2021)
But as early as March 16, expert modelling had warned of a coming surge in cases and ICUs being overwhelmed.
Ford dithered and stalled and now we're all paying the price!

Doug Ford couldn't roll out a new license plate, never mind manage a pandemic, 2 weeks ago he was opening up, now we're on strict stay at home, he doesn't have a clue.

Also, what's the difference between a shutdown, a lockdown an emergency brake, and a stay at home order?
This sounds like a joke because it is, but there is no punchline.

Ford listens to initial meeting with experts as well as trump did. Thankfully Dougie does eventually pay attention to some things instead of digging in his heels and doubling down on his bullshit.

Ford lacked the courage and intelligence to say that the best medical advice simply wasn't good enough to justify disastrous lockdowns. That mistake will have enduring consequences for all Ontarians. However, since none of his rivals is taking this position, and the public is too stupid to understand this, he is politically safe. I'll be voting against him the first chance I get to vote for anyone better. So far, that person has yet to show up on the Ontario political scene.
