I had a glass of red wine with dinner and I am about to pour a snifter of that great peat scented nectar.

Just noticed the label on my bottle is different.

This is what we get in Ontario, or a least this is what is being served at Chez Laggy ce soir.

I'm guessing double barreled alas Balvinnie and company. I think a lot of the Sherry/Port Cask practice is just marketing to be different and to latch onto McCallums success. Christ even the Irish are doing it.

Lagavulin does market a cask or distillers version - basically an 8 or 12 year old, can't remember.

They also have also had 30 and 40 year old that can get fairly expensive,
I don't believe we can get them at the LCBO any longer and they may be difficult to find, I would expect $500 to $1,000 per bottle.

That's why I prefer the 16, a nicely aged, incredibly deep and complex flavour with a huge nose for a mere $125

Okay I never tried this Lagavulin.. Tell me if it's great
It certainly is not for everyone. If you like sweet drinks forget it.

If you already like single malt whiskeys then it is worth trying.
Some prefer it above all other single malts, others do not like it at all.
It is a very pungent aroma of peat and a very powerful taste.

Its like seeing a beautiful woman that is curvaceous and has large natural breasts.
Some men prefer a more petite lady.

I just had a glass of Appleton (Reserve) Rum for something different. I like it neat.
