In February the Feds banned the Beretta ARX - 160. It has become the weapon of choice of the Ukrainian Army. The NRA wants the ban repealed.
I'm not sure you have your information correct.
Civilians cannot buy a Beretta ARX160. The ARX100 is the semi auto version of the ARX160 that was marketed in the United States, but was never that successful. Same with the ARX160-22, which is not made by Beretta. The ARX160-22 was a Umarex Walther 22LR rifle that was a licenced look alike that had a different operating system, but had the controls in the same place and looks of an ARX160 and was discontinued several years ago.
Both are great rifles. Fully ambidextrous and toolless disassembly.
And the Ukrainians do not have a weapon of choice. They are using any mil spec rifle they can get their hands on, including surplus Dutch Colt Canada C7's, and older Canadian Forces Colt Canada C7's and C8's. The latest Colt Canada order for Ukraine will be composed of Colt USA rifles passing through Colt Canada.
