UK's Johnson has 10-point lead over Labour before election: Kantar poll

LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party has a 10-point lead over the opposition Labour Party, according to an opinion poll published by market research company Kantar on Wednesday, ahead of next month’s election.

Support for the Conservatives stood at 37% compared with Labour’s 27%. The pro-European Union Liberal Democrats were on 17% and the Brexit Party was on 9%.

Kantar surveyed 1,165 people online between Nov. 7 and Nov. 11, before the Brexit Party announced it would not stand in seats held by Conservative members of parliament.

The only pol even less competent than the succession of not-up-to standard PMs from Cameron through May to Johnson has been Corbyn, who pretends to 'oppose' without any actual alternative program.

Much the way Donny responds to his critics, as he pretends to 'govern'.

Oh, this couldn't be a real thread in the political forum without a reference to Donny.

Corbyn is absolutely toxic. An inept politician, arrogant and clearly a closet Brexiter in a party 90% of whose rank and file are now remainers.

If a more sensible, moderate leader was running Labour, this would be a Labour landslide. BoJo mimics Trump in that he has a minority popular base that he cannot expand. Most UK-ers are now anti Brexit. BoJo is a committed Brexiter.

With the "deal" between Farage and BoJo to pull the BrxP out of the election, it may well be a Tory win and if a majority, it will see the incredible result that the most important decision in British history since Churchill's "fight them on the beaches" speech will be made against the opinion of the majority of voters, who are anti Brexit.

A sad testimony to leaders chosen by party rank and file and how polarizing, toxic and corrosive both BoJo and JeCo are!

He is the elephant in every political room these days. And clear proof that one can be completely unqualified, yet win high office, and keep it with neither program nor practical accomplishments to show for their time-serving.

Surely an inspiration to all pols everywhere.

But to keep Brexit in the posts: It's fascinating to see an election called because Parliament won't approve Brexit, with a majority of the electorate against it as well, yet with no significant voice among the parties saying, "So we'll stay in".

That would be, and should be, what Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition sounds like; it's why the role exists and is called that. But Corbyn's not up to it.

I would not count on a landslide to Johnson. The British are better educated than Americans.

Given that there was already a vote on Brexit and that the December UK elections are a proxy referendum on Brexit, Brexit has had enough debate. A December vote for pro-Brexit MPs is enough to move forward.

I find the Johnson-Farage alliance no different or no disagreeable than the Trudeau-Singh alliance. That's how coalitions work in multiparty political systems.

Not even bothering to interact with someone like you who has entrenched views and does not follow the topic.

Here's your boy engaging in elevated discourse.

Put me squarely in the Corbyn is a moron camp. Thee absolute worst choice the party could have picked.

I can only hope that the Liberals find a lane and scream up the middle.

There are the same knuckleheads arguing that UK voters are stupid or racist or don't know what's good for them. This is what has become of Democracies in the social media age.

I have faith in voters to find the right direction. Others have faith in their own direction for the country.
