You don't really believe that, do you?
Everything that trends on Twitter is newsworthy?
The 200 million people on Twitter decide everything?
Not everything that trends is newsworthy, but if it trends, it simply means it's a hot topic that is getting views and clicks.
Anytime I see a celebrity name and think about other things that deserve to be trending that are more important than little man bieber and his timbit sized donut balls.

200 million people don't decide, they're just viewing whatever they're viewing and the rest is just incidental, aka, "trending".

Yeah.
It's trending.
Trending on twitter isn't a good proxy for newsworthy.
It just means trending on twitter.

Now that he’s tested negative and on the road to recovery, isn’t this a story like we hear with nearly every healthy fully-vaccinated person that gets the virus?

This time with the the plot twist that he was on Joe Rogan’s pharma regiment.

An ex was telling me just last night that she felt a lot better after getting the soup I sent her while she was still infected with COVID. She was negative a few days later.

It could only have been my soup and not her vaccinations, age and health that kept her out of a hospital and on a quick road to recovery.

And where exactly do you think the majority of folks younger than you are getting their news from these days?
Not twitter.
Although it would be interesting to see a recent poll on where people get news from.

There just aren't enough people on twitter for it to be the majority news source for most of anyone.

This is an utterly banal story except people like celebrity gossip.
Rich guy gets COVID.
Rich guy takes approved COVID therapy.
Rich guy is ok.

This happens all the time and no one thinks it is newsworthy.

About half or more of adults 50 and older are still turning to TV for news often – 54% of those 50 to 64 and about two-thirds (68%) of those 65 and older. But among those ages 30 to 49, just a quarter say they get news on TV often, and just 16% say the same among those 18 to 29. For those age groups, digital devices are the dominant choice for news, with 67% of those 30 to 49 and 71% of those 18 to 29 getting news from a digital device often.

Among those 50 and older, differences between digital and non-digital news sources are less pronounced. Among adults 50 and older, 64% get news at least sometimes from both television and digital devices.

Within digital platforms for news, most age groups turn to news websites at higher rates than other platforms, with one exception. Americans ages 18 to 29 stand out in that the most common digital way they get news is social media, with 42% saying they get news this way often versus 28% saying the same of either news websites or search engines.

Thanks.
Unfortunately they don't distinguish between which social media, which is sort of the point.

Oh wait.
That second one has it.
Well, not really.
The numbers are broken down the wrong way.

Rogan is increasingly being connected with the "conspiracy far right". The ivermectin shtick is just his road to get there in the public mind. But now he's also embracing the "January 6 was a FBI set up" crap.
