I guess Lindsey Graham is not among those Republicans.

There is a way Zelensky can sign the deal and still rescue
his country from the paws of American imperialism. I already
outlined how Trump can be tricked into a bogus mineral
deal in my last post from another Ukraine thread.

Perhaps you should as for a one on one with Zelenskyy. I am sure he would love to hear your POV.

Z has many many supporters among citizens in the west. And since the
humiliation Trump and Vance subject him to was aired to the world
he has won more sympathy from outside the west as well. I've noticed
sentiments expressed in the media in Asia which generally took a more
neutral stance on the Ukraine war have become more anti-Trump and
anti-Putin lately.

Zelensky could easily turn to milllions of well-wishers around the world
for advices rather than me. My POV is more suited for someone more pragmatic
and less idealistic.

In other words, the Russian asset is doing his job?
Looks like Putin is ready to cozy up to Trump's master. I
think it is more like the two are on equal terms than one
being the other's asset. Trump shall be thankful his master
in Jerusalem will help normalize the U.S.-Russia relationship.

Israel invited to Russia’s May 9 parade, while 'unfriendly' nations excluded
03.02.25

Russia has released its list of invited nations for its annual Victory Day parade in Moscow, commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany. The event, a significant fixture in Russia’s political calendar, will take place in Red Square on May 9.

Amid Israel’s ongoing efforts to maintain ties with Moscow, Israel has been invited to attend, though Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not expected to participate. Instead, Israel will be represented by its ambassador to Russia, Simona Halperin.

My understanding is that the kind of security guarantee Zelensky
has in mind would be something not even South Vietnam during the
years when U.S. troops were dying to defend them was entitled to.
And this understanding is based on what, exactly?

We in Canada can expect other NATO members coming to
our rescue when invaded. But I doubt our security is guaranteed.
Do you not know what a security guarantee is?

He is not back tracking.
He said even before the Oval Office spat, that he is ready to sign over mineral deals, but wants security guarantees.
He is saying the same thing now, so no change.
You have to remember that these are Trump fans.
The idea that he regrets the fight must mean he is "backtracking" and "Donny won" in their minds because they subscribe to the whole "never say you are sorry, always express dominance" etc.
They can't see that he isn't backtracking, he just wants to move forward with the deal.

Where in the article does it say they laughed at him because he was asking for 2%?
Again, 24 of 32 countries reached a minimum of 2%, and then changed it to 5%.
Why is that?
Because in a much more dangerous world where the US can't be relied on and they must consider defending against the US, they are all going to spend more money on defense.

Well one thing is a fact
..US is carrying the brunt of the finances of NATO. He may want to opt out if most members don't even honor their pledges.
Please show me the NATO line item in the US budget.

USA should pay the entire cost of NATO. It is a tool for their empire, and the weapons they force the vassals to buy are overpriced by a factor of 5.
How would that work, exactly?
How would the US "pay the entire cost of NATO"?

Well, USA could pay for the equipment; they dictate what and how much the other countries must acquire.

So you are saying that the US should pay for all military equipment for all NATO countries and those countries should have no say in what they buy or what they get?
All procurement for national defense is in the hands of the US going forward?
