Thousands of convicted pedophiles in California are being released from prison in less than a year

I'm always skeptical of anything the Daily Fail puts out as an exclusive. And while the headline is sensational, we don't have enough information to say what the situation is. Nobody like pedophiles...but there are instances where some kids are caught up in these things (like a 17 year old having sex with a 14 year old or something), and they get branded as a sex offender for the rest of their lives. Oddly, as far as I can tell, only the Daily Mail has this story, though Fox News jumped on it....which again, makes me skeptical....

A quick look at this article shows it is data up to 2019 - so nothing that happened recently, even though the headline is phrased that way.
In fact, reading through, they are careful to never mention what date the analysis started and only mention using the public database https://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/ .
That database goes back to 1996 or so, when the law came into effect.

So this is probably just under 7,000 offenders over 23 years and has nothing to do with the current release.
In fact, a number of the examples they point to pre-date the 2016 law the article blames for it.

So it does seem like the numbers are probably real but presented in a bullshit way.

Democrats gotta clear those prisons....
I think Post # 4 is a fair assessment.
If you are going to pretend to be an oracle, then you need to display at least a base level understanding of reality and politics. Just hating liberals isn’t enough

OP re-posts no end of the kind of claptrap that takes kernels of fact and gives them a hard right, populist spin...
That is the definition of right-wing media. They torque any story that will make Dems, Leftists, Liberals look bad and either don't cover stories that make their side look terrible, or spin it in a fashion to make it seem significantly less worse than it truly is. Say what you will about the MSM, but they try to cover both sides fairly...even when one side (the right) constantly makes bad faith arguments and accusations...Point of fact: Fox News basically didn't cover that Trump had dinner with Fuentes and Ye, and when they did mention it....it was more about slamming Don Lemmon because he asked a former Trump advisor if he would slam Trump for dining with anti-semites...smh

The article is so vague that it's useless. It confabulates "light" sentences for offenders who have already served large amounts of pre trial time, those who cut a deal where the State's case may have been weak and those who had already served substantial post sentence time and had release dates upcoming - all in order to present a case where judges and prosecutors appear to be so spineless that child-fuckers laugh at the law.

I don't know any prosecutors or judges who don't play hardball with pedophiles and I doubt there are any such in CA either. But the Daily Mail will no doubt twist the facts to give the impression that the CA justice system is feeble.

Not surprised, Trudeau would do the same.
Give me some actual examples of cases that you personally know where this has happened - from your vast first hand experience with the Canadian justice system.

Let's hear some judges and prosecutor's names.

There's probably a Sun editorial or two from the early 2000's that he'll dig up.
