I was told by a Chinese colleague that America is referred to the 'Beautiful Country' because when the Chinese first saw the American flag they said it was a beautiful flag. They also told me the name of Canada translates to 'Big country, Take', literally meaning take advantage of this big country.
I have a co-worker from Aruba, he has the flag in the back window of his truck. I'd say it's middle of the road.
