While this particular site has a lot of unsubstantiated conspiracy theory crap in it, I do think that Bill C-51 is (in typical Harper Nazi fashion) is a dangerous bill that gives away individual rights supposedly to protect them. This is just a continuing trend of Harper to (as he did with his prostitution legislation) erode the rights of the individual. In a recent interview Edward Snowden said that Canada has one of the "weakest oversight" frameworks for intelligence gathering in the Western world.
I have no problem with regulated security measures but I find it unfathomable that allowing government agencies the same unlimited access to people's lives as once enjoyed by dictatorships we fought against. If we ever had a coup in Canada, we are setting up the structure to support the dictatorship and repress resistance.
