With the federal government prepared to force people into quarantine, with governments refusing to table budgets, with governments content with forcing citizens to take hastily developed vaccines in order to enjoy freedoms, or pursue specific kinds of employment, with governments who actively oppose disclosure of their handling of the Winnipeg lab scandal to hide their embarrassing relationship with a totalitarian state, and to top it all off, with the first government to invoke emergency police and law enforcement powers since the 1970s (when there had been actual violence, murder, and kidnapping) to deal with parking and noise by-law infractions, no, I'm not kidding. We are living in the most authoritarian times ever in this country. And people like you don't even bat an eye. Maybe it's what you prefer.
