The vaccines are what we have.
The vaccines are ALL that we are going to have.
I'm 100 percent on board with them because I want my life back. Once everyone is vaccinated, we as a society are going to have a choice to make. Either we continue to live in the basement in fear or we take the plunge and see how it goes. I know I'll be taking the plunge. We cannot continue like this.
Worst case scenario, say that everyone is vaccinated and COVID is not eradicated and even vaccinated people continue to succumb. Well, then it will become a case of acceptable losses because I don't get the impression there is a Plan B. It will be no different than a military action where a casualty rate is calculated and a decision to proceed (or not) is made based on those projected casualty rates. Acceptable or not.
We as a society cannot continue to live as we have been for the last 1.3 years. We can't afford it.
At some point, when it becomes obvious that some people are refusing to be vaccinated they will need to be put on notice that "we respect your decision not to accept a vaccine, however, please be aware that if you fall sick, you will not be treated by the health care system. You made the choice, now you have to live with the consequences. You're on your own."
