The election is on the 3rd; what's so difficult about that?

The extreme position and sloppy legal thinking of Justice "I like beer!" is also worrying.

The current GOP position is "It is extremely important to get a quick and clear result so you can't count any votes that slow the counting down. Also, you can't start counting the votes that come in early in order to finish on time."

Democrats hate deadlines.
Republicans hate democracy.

The Democrats argued quite well that there should be a submission deadline not a receipt deadline due to the logistics of the situation.
In states that set up their infrastructure deadline differently, they were perfectly fine with a receipt deadline because it made sense.

But look, given that Kavanaugh ruled that a result needs to be declared on the 3rd and all counting after that should be illegal, Governor Evers has ruled that all counting needs to be done in order of densest population center so that the most votes can be counted on the day. Start with the cities and metro areas and count rural counties last. If that means the rural counties don't get counted by the Nov 3 deadline that the court wants then those votes will be thrown out.

Its not ideal, but the court did insist.

If Democrats’ voters are too stupid or not disciplined enough to get their votes in on time, their vote does not deserve to be counted. It is the equivalent of a skill testing question.

Nice.
You intend to bring back literacy questions and the poll tax while you are at it?

Officially the decision is that the court says lower courts should defer to the state legislature. If it had been kept at that, people would still say it sucks and is a dumb decision but there wouldn't be so much outrage.
It's the reasoning in the concurrences that is pissing people off.
