The fact that the shares of Shaw are trading at a significant discount, $33.77 close today versus $40.50 tender price indicates uncertainty as to the outcome. It's a friendly deal between Shaw and Rogers but has to clear three government reviews. Telecoms are an easy political target going back before the Trudeau era to Harper.

Yea lower prices....btw there ain’t no Santa Clause. Unless there is competition prices don’t drop as evidenced by Freedom when it was a separate entity introducing its prices and policies that caused a drop. If telecoms want a free market then open it up to allow foreign companies in. Also property owners should be allowed to charge fees to them as they run their cables along private property even though the owner of the property may not use their services.
