If cops had no intention of charging him it then becomes an illegal detainment.

Its under Section 9 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
The original charge to take him in was ARREST FOR BREACH OF THE PEACE, so take him and then decide to take the charge away and let him go. Easy peasy DONE....

I'm a jew, ok
I'm a citizen, ok

but then, I'M YOUR BOSS,

that gets a FUCK YOU, you're arrested for breaching the peace. They should have locked Ezra up and thrown away the key.

ps...on a side note although I am against Ezra and enjoy seeing him arrested, I would take a fire hose and rubber bullets to the Protesters if I were in charge.

So now we hear the entire story...His charter of rights was clearly violated here.
No.

You can't go up to protesters and say shit to annoy them and not back off when the cops tell you to. You will be arrested for "breach of the peace".

Just because you're a rightie, doesn't you can do whatever tf you want 24/7.

Yes but to be taken seriously you must be a responsible individual or organization, not an activist doing so to take in donations from their naive sheep.
But he broke the real story which isn't just a few people on a side walk promoting terrorism, that's a Tuesday but how the cops will arrest someone for just standing there, maybe even asking questions or taking pictures.

That is serious.

Again if it was say a member of the Young Turks doing the same thing to some Proud Boys and the policia hauled their ass off, people defending the arrest would be up in arms and those who are saying it's a nothing burger would be all derka derka jihad jihad.

Well not me but I am so very lonely.

Ezra is a shit disturber. He LOVED that he got arrested. I can almost guarantee he's sent out a fundraising email to his supporters blaming Trudeau's police state or some other bullshit. He was likely not covering the event, he was probably trying to incite something so he could, once again, send out a fundraising email. That's his scheme. He does stuff that no news organization would ever condone, then makes the story about himself.

Now, the cops might have arrested/removed him to prevent an escalation of violence. If that is the case, I don't really think that's a bad thing. Either way, Ezra got what he wanted.

I just took a look at the Rebel's site. They do not report stories, they make stories. They explicitly talk about trolling people. They put themselves in positions where they act outrageously, then paint themselves as victims when they get removed or arrested. Cry me a fucking river.
Yes they do push things, often too far. But was he aggressively getting into people's faces in that particular situation? IIRC the cops were basically saying his presence alone was inflamitory not that he was pushing the limits.

So since he works for Rebel Media, I can go punch him in the face, because he is a jerk. It doesn't work that way.

And the idea of removing someone for standing around, maybe asking some civil questions, because it might cause a disturbance, I say the issue is on the savages who would turn that into an escalation of violence. Why not arrest them... oh but that would require more effort and keep the cops away from their donuts.

Yeah he got what he wanted. He exposed the cops taking the side of terrorists over an innocent person.

I didn't watch the full scene, but aside from 1 count of being a Jew and 1 count of being from Rebel Media, did he actually do anything wrong?

He was taken away and released to avoid any possible violence. He wasn't charged with anything but knowing he's a shit disturber, it was the prudent thing to do.
Oh so he wasn't hauled off for anything he did, just for what he might do.

And again, if it got violent, it would be on the protesters, why were they not hauled off. The cops were basically admitting the protesters were savages prone to violence. Although protesters prone to violence of all stripes... again a Tuesday.

About a 100 Anarchists one night in Hamilton went on a rampage wrecking among other things an innocent donot shop. Well better charge the owners of that donut shop for provoking those anarchists with their capitalism. Yeah!

Yeah how dare anyone talk back to the police when they are up to no good. Fuck that.

What the fuck dude.

Not as if he was chanting
""What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now.""

But do that with a few thousand people, and it's fine... don't want to escalate the situation.

And in theory the concept of a public servant working for the public shouldn't be an arrest able offense.

Clear abuse of authority.

Yeah a desirable result from Levents POV but that abuse is news worthy and needs to be exposed. Abuse in defense of terrorism is just icing on that sweet sweet cake, which happened to not be a lie.

You can say that to a cop, you can curse a cop its not illegal. That's why they had to let him go. Its best not to, but the Cop which looks like a senior should've known that and can't get triggered by something like that. But he did.

He wasn't arrested for trying to annoy some protester, he was protested for pointing out that the cop was in the wrong.

Also how did he annoy the shit out of them. What did he actually say. Did he tell them he hopes their mothers die? DId he invite them to a Justin Beiber concert?

I've seen examples where Rebel Media went to the point of harassment and abuse, but I mean fuck, we don't just arrest Hells Angels because of their rep, we wait till they actually do something.

If he was a black dude working for some activist org and he got hauled off for mouthing off at the cop the exact same way, again... defenders of this and people who object to this would do a 180.

Oh and isn't celebrating a terrorist much worse than anything he would have said? He mentioned it to the cop. Did the cop haul those protesters off for being annoying... and more than annoying frankly. [no pun intended]

Ezra isn't afraid of much,lol....My favourite of him was with Greta when he was bombarding her with questions when she walking outside in Davos while attending the WEF event...He even had her laughing at one point.
Stalking Greta Thunberg, Ezra Levant truly is a supreme macho man. He should eat more quiche.

i'm sure you enjoyed Trudeau freezing bank accounts (still not a police state?) of protesters against him....which the courts later stated was a violation of their rights...

This is a different case but just goes to my point, it's all about donations. I suggest you send some money and help the cause!

Do your part, soon he will be asking for donations for the topic in this thread so please keep that in mind to put some more money aside.

Me on the other hand all I will say is

LOCK HIM UP
LOCK HIM UP
LOCK HIM UP

but that is just my hope and wish. I wish I was in charge, just for a day.

UPDATE: We've appealed The Libranos ruling at the Federal Court

"Help support the legal fight or get your copy today! Lawyer Sarah Miller joins Ezra Levant after arguing an appeal at the Federal Court over a ruling against Levant and Rebel News for his 2019 book, The Libranos."

But weren't they using foreign money to buy weapons and trying to shut down the economy?
