Sixty minutes show, the founder of the probiotic movement says its a miracle organism. Studies show it doesn't help with much. I took them after antibiotics , but now they're saying its worst .

I wouldnt listen to what the mainstream media says. They are pretty much clueless.
Probiotics work great if you have IBS or when you're taking a round of antibiotics.
The probiotics help replenish the good bacteria that antibiotics inadvertently kill off while they are killing off the bad bacteria.
Make sure you get a good brand though. Flora is really good

Well, if you look at the video they have scientists that have tested the stuff and say it really doesn't work for IBS and other stuff like antibiotics.

All I can tell you is when I had IBS probiotics really helped reduce my gut bloating (although I will admit it was not a cure).
AFA taking it with antibiotics, there is plenty of science that says that is beneficial as well:

Like other heath store products there is no regulation and all are not created equal, standardized or effective.
You get what you pay for as well as some more effective probiotics are pricey.
There are also specific strains to suit certain health problems.
There are also minimum cfu amounts to see benefits.
In recent times there has been a focus on prebiotics as the depletion of good bacteria in the guy is blamed more on no food source.

I was told that you should always take probiotics either one hour before antibiotics or one hour after. But not at the same time.
Yupper, otherwise the antibiotics will just kill your probiotic supplement
You can get them from natural sources too. Kimchi and kefir are good sources of probiotics.
You can, but they are not as concentrated as taking it in a capsule

There so much we don't know about this field at present. It will be interesting to see where this goes forward
