'Hold on to power' ?? The Conservatives give them power every election.
You are absolutely right, partially because the conservatives have been sending messages of austerity which the electorate simply does not want to hear.

The conservatives will say they want to cut funding to Albanian sheep herders. The media will then do a story showing the three Albanian sheep herders that are up in arms. There will then be man in the street interviews saying the conservatives are racists, as evidenced by the Albanian sheep herders.

The lessons are pretty simple:
1. half the public is below average in intelligence.
2. in politics it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission (or maybe easier to blame it on your predecessor than be accountable).

Wynne and the liberals are great politicians, but scumbags to the core.

Oh, I dunno. People seem to have a keen enough appetite for Harper's bullshit about belt tightening. Methinks it's just that Hudak actually managed to do the whole reductio ad absurdum all on his own. Your analogy should be more like: The conservatives will say they will create a million jobs by laying off 100,000 people. The media will then suggest, well, WTF? Then there will be man-in-the-street interviews saying the conservatives may just have trouble with basic math. Speaking of which, the pretty simple lessons are not:

1. half the public is below average in intelligence.
2. in politics it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission (or maybe easier to blame it on your predecessor than be accountable)..
But rather:

1. Half the public is below average in intelligence.
2. The other half is above average.
3. And the third half can't do math.

The Liberals only wasted money, they didn't devastate the province the way the PC's did. Remember in Ontario our electoral choice is between bad and worse. The liberals may be bad but they have only ever faced worse in elections.
You a fucking idiot!!

Yesterday on a TV interview, Wynne refused to answer if she knew about the 10k.

Puh-lease. Under Harris, they balanced budgets, and had to download because Chretien significantly reduced provincial transfer payments. Even though they made a billion dollars from the sale of the 407, which went back into the government's coffers to balance the budget and pay for social services, people will regret that sale as a big mistake. Perhaps they are guilty of being short-sighted, but it's not like 407 revenues are tax free to the new foreign owners. Canada is not a tax-free haven to do business in (unlike some critics will sound like).
Nonsense Harris applied capital transactions to operating deficits -- making it look like he balanced the budget but in reality he just kicked the problem ahead to the next guy.

He also claimed to have balanced the budget with "future" named savings -- we are still waiting for them to happen
