“We hit over another 100,000 vaccinations yesterday and we’re ramping up, so things are looking really, really positive out there,” Ford said.

He did it intentionally to prove AZ is worth taking and not to shy away if one is 55 plus. He could have chosen any of the 3. I give him full marks for doing so!
Still makes it easier for him to take when he is not in the at risk group. As I said, I give him credit but not a huge amount. Just good on him for taking a vaccine period. Being the AZ doesn’t give him extra marks in my books.

So much BS. I have a guy working for me in London with bad history of breathing problems (67 yrs) in London. He finally got an appointment after weeks of repeated attempts. Canada's wonderland and TO Convention Centre had to close down after a couple days from lack of vaccine. Then I hear Ontario has only distributed ~ 50% of the 4 million doses it received. It's appalling that after a year we are so far behind setting up distribution. One of my customers in the US told me that out of 18 in his office - 5 had received two doses and everyone else their first dose.

I disagree and will say he is in a very high-risk group. First, he's 56 which makes him eligible for AZ and he cannot be blamed of line jumping. Secondly, he's overweight, I'm guessing but I wouldn't be surprised if he's suffering from high blood pressure and bordering on if not having diabetes based on weight, age, and life stresses he deals with. He also cannot avoid coming into contact with many many folks. The AZ has been getting a bad rap with all the talk of blood clots. It is the only vaccine that actually has a hint of a possible very rare negative side effect besides just an allergic reaction. In his position, he could have easily ordered up a Pfizer or Moderna poke so I to my surprise am defending a Conservative politician. LOL

Christine Elliot and Mayor Tory also took the Astra.

The Astra vaccine is much easier to get than the Pfizer or Moderna but I do agree that they are trying to send a message that Astra is safe.

Heard the Blue Jays took the vaccine (don't know which one) on Thursday. At least two Jays suffered discomfort and one had to leave the game early on Friday bight.

Politicians lie and cheat all the time. I am not convinced that they took the Astra vaccine.

I agree. Nice to see him do the right thing for once.

And not only does it show confidence to take AZ, he also didn't ask for special treatment (AZ is the only option for most people his age).

The shit would really hit the fan if he didn't and word got out (and it would).
I agree the shit would really hit the fan if it came out. But a lot of misdeeds and lies do not come out until years or decades later (e.g. JFK's womanizing, police behavior during the 1970 October Crisis, LBJ's corruption, etc...).

Doubt people like Ford enough (or are scared enough of him) to keep it quiet.

Ford has proven himself to be a bully who will attack people who have crossed him. For instance, the press has not reported anything about his womanizing (I know that is a little rich to be posting on an escort forum)

I would say given his physical appearance he is definitely suffering from metabolic syndrome or is prediabetic which would put him in the high risk category.

He's had ample time to set an example here and shed some weight and improve his health thus boosting his immune system. Yet he has failed to do so.

I'm not saying it's a sure fire way to beat covid but at the very least it will improve your chances until vaccinated. Not to mention metabolically healthy individuals lessen the burden on our medical system which is being taxed to it's limits right now.

Ford and our elected officials lack of recognition of the importance of metabolic health is disturbing.
