I'm not sure what this story is trying to illustrate. Did the teacher tell her she was gay? Or was she confused? It sounds like she understood what was going on. I don't think this is necessarily a parallel to someone who might be trans. But even if it was, no body removes genitalia or even gives drugs that soon and without any clinical therapy, despite what the outrage right-wing media would have you believe.But the discussion is about this teacher, school counselors and sex education agendas, not the Catholic church.

Do you get a feeling like your heart is beating faster, younger a funny feeling in your tummy, you get all nervous or you want to touch them like big them and maybe kiss them and stuff?". "Noooo. I just like them". " It's because you're good friends. That's normal. But to say you're gay and have emotional feelings and maybe love them. You're not emotionally mature enough to say that it feel like it might be real. Did the LGBTQ talk influence you in to feeling this way?" Knowing full well it did from her opening statement. "Maybe" " would you have felt this way if that subject never came up?" "Probably not?".
Two years later, I asked if she felt she was still gay. "Nah. I'm dating a boy. Even though most boys are jerks, this one's nice".
Take that story for what you will. My buddy's daughter thinks of me as an uncle/family member. We have great discussions and he appreciates me being open with her as it's helped his relationship with her.
