This sounds like out of a Indiana Jones movie, an armored train said to be loaded with gold and loot from WW2 is real. People that have loaded the train said its booby trapped. They could make a whole documentary and show over the excavation, you could imagine the flood lights...security, cameras etc could be very interesting.

Poland confirmed the discovery of an armored World War II Nazi train hidden underground near the Czech border that local legend says is laden with gold and other loot.

Deputy Culture Minister Piotr Zuchowski said he has seen a geo-radar image of the more than 100-meter-long train, presented by lawyers of two men who say they discovered it. The train’s discovery was made possible after a death-bed confession of a person who helped hide it, Zuchowski said. He declined to reveal that person’s identity and said the contents of the train weren’t known.

“This is an absolutely unprecedented situation,” he said at a news briefing in Warsaw on Friday. “There is a very high, over 99 percent, probability that this train exists.”
Armored wagons were used by the Nazis to transport valuables, Zuchowski said, while local lore claims that such a train loaded with loot from the nearby city of Wroclaw went missing in the area during the advance of the Soviet Army in 1945.

Toward the end of World War II, Nazi forces began building seven underground structures in the mountains near the southwestern Polish town of Walbrzych in an area that previously belonged to Germany. Poland will attempt to dig out the train after military engineers secure the area, which may be booby-trapped, Zuchowski said.

How can you hide a train? Isn't finding it just a matter of following the tracks? This makes no sense.

I get that in 2015 the tracks are gone but in 1945 they were there, even if damaged by bombs they were there.

I remember when Geraldo did a live show about digging some secret basement that belonged to Al Capone , they found nothing . Then he had another show in Egypt when they were opening a cave/tomb for the first time. The Egyptian curator was prying a sarcophagus with a crowbar and cracked the whole top. Geraldo looked at the guy, said but but you just broke it, the curator said something like: doesn't matter we have these (mummies) all over the place. :p

So this guy in Poland on his death bed decided to reveal this? Hummm Why not before? Even if there is no gold it will be nice to watch. I read that the x rays showed cannons.

Maybe Geraldo and resurrect his career and do another live show on this one.
It would be pretty wild if this story is true though. It would be held up in the courts for decades over who owns the contents.

You drive the train into a tunnel on a side spur, blow up the tunnel entrance, then rip up the side spur tracks. Nature takes over and soon there's no trace of it left.

More information. Lmao the Russians are claiming the lion share of this find.

Inside the Nazi labyrinth: Network of tunnels dug under Poland may finally yield secrets and hidden gold

The waterlogged tunnel threading its way beneath the hills of Lower Silesia amounts to a relic of one of Hitler’s most grandiose and futile projects.

This subterranean passage, reached through a pair of black gates, was hacked out of the ground by prisoners and slave labourers.

Their task was to build bunkers and factories under the pine forests of what is today southern Poland, constructing a hiding place where a collapsing Third Reich might secrete its war industries – and its treasures.

A tunnel similar to this one may conceal a train laden with looted gold. Last week, the Polish government said that a man who helped bury the train had disclosed its location shortly before his death. The authorities took a ground-penetrating radar to this spot and, sure enough, a train was detected deep beneath the soil.

Yesterday, The Sunday Telegraph was given a tour of a nearby tunnel, complete with railway tracks leading into the depths of the earth.

A damp concrete floor, dimly lit with a row of lights, stretched out before us. This led first to a small underground chamber with a swastika carved into the roof, alongside the national symbol of Ukraine – perhaps the work of Ukrainian prisoners.

Then the tunnel sloped downwards, burrowing deeper into the ground. After about 900 yards, and several twists and turns, the passage broadened into a long and spacious chamber, at least 30ft high and 20ft wide – easily big enough for a train.

In the 70 years since the tunnel was built, this section has been partially flooded by murky green water. It was cold, with the temperature hovering around 6 degrees Celsius.

New images of the train and tanks are good.

New radar image appears to show rumoured Nazi ghost train buried underground in Poland

A second radar image purportedly showing the rumoured World War II-era Nazi ghost train was published earlier this week by Polish newspaper Gazeta Wroclawska.

The ground-penetrating image appears to show a row of tanks, which supports initial reports that the train was of a “military nature.”

Amid claims that the train’s existence was a hoax, the two men who said they found the train in Poland identified themselves last week as Andreas Richter and Piotr Koper on TVP.INFO and read a prepared statement, the Associated Press reports.

I would be very surprised if the train held any gold. Most likely it's weapons or machinery. Maybe archives of some kind from Breslau.

Why would such a track configuration even exist and why wouldn't everybody know where it was?

The same way all militaries hide secret projects. Clear the area of people. Build it. And in the case of the Nazis kill the workers.

Whether it's filled with gold is another matter. But I can see this being done easily. Especially in a remote mountain region.
