No surprise as the Tigers have been one of the best teams since the All-Star break.
1. Padres: 43-20
2. Dodgers: 42-23
3. Arizona: 40-25
4. Tigers: 39-26
5. Mets: 40-27
Looks like the Royals may eliminate the O's. FYI, Baltimore has only played .500 ball since the All-Star break.
Wow! AL Central has 3 out of the 4 final teams in the AL play-offs. Assume those odds would have been very high at the beginning of the season.
The surprise is Detroit had a sell off at the trade deadline. It was as if they gave up on the season, but then they improved after the sell off.
At the beginning of the year many experts were calling the whole division a train wreck.
Brings back memories of the late 1970's when they met 4 out of 5 years in the ALCS. Buck remembers those years well.
