There is no Tom Jones on this list, no Weekend though I love him, No Bowie, No Hozier , I dare to say no Freddie Mercury, no Robert Plant though all belong on the list of greats popular beyond imagination in their time, but these two tracks are just on another level for me, I love the entire track for both links but draw your attention two the snips that really get me where I sit in amazement, humbled.

Pearl Jam , Song? "Black" Acoustic. 2:06 - 2:30 pure magic, Eddy is a vocal wizard.

Next

Alter Bridge, Song? "Words Darker Than Their Wings" 5:45 - 6:10 Miles Kennedy ,,,,Just incredible, God smacked.

Do you have any favourite male vocals that just stop you in your tracks and maybe even humble you down to just listen in awe? These are a couple of my personal faves, I am a 60's baby and honestly feel this kind of music and talent is harder and harder to come by.

Fuck COVID

Everyone's entitled to their opinion (agree with you on covid, though - but who doesn't?) My top two would be Nat King Cole and Johnny Mathis...

While I can always tip my hat to greats such as Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), David Draiman (Disturbed), Chris Cornell (SoundGarden, Audioslave).

Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) had an uncanny vocal ability until most recently. His heavy jazz influenced lyrical style would also showcase his impressive range.

however, there is exactly one Freddie Mercury. There is no comparison.
