I was so tempted to go these past few weeks, even today. But I stay away as I can't take the risk. Shit! 491 positive cases today!
Do MPAs get checked for the coronavirus weekly or bi-weekly?
Do visitors self-isolated after MP visit? Or do visitors get checked after MP visit?
The answers to your questions is:
No
NO
and NO.

Stage 1 took months, then came stage 2, and remember how quickly stage 3 came after? I think it was 2 or 3 weeks between stages 2 and 3! I was optimistic but also very surprised at the same time - so quickly to stage 3 after stopping the whole world middle of March ?!?!? I was watching "walking tour" videos of European cities in June/July and wondering if the pandemic somehow "skipped" Amsterdam / Paris / Copenhagen / and so on and now a lot of Europe and the UK is in the same boat ! Of course that everyone was very eager to get everything moving again and who can blame them, looking backwards is always much easier, but now it looks like the re-opening was too quick.

Actually Canada has done an excellent job in response to the virus and in comparison to the very high majority of other advanced western nations who had shutdowns.
In cases/Mln Canada is ranked 85th with 4,000+/Mln, which is a lot better than our neighbours down south the USA at 12th in cases with 22,000+/Mln, and slightly behind Germany in cases at 97th with 3,400+/Mln.

As well more than likely the numbers of deaths reported currently in Canada due to COVID-19 will be accounted for in the excess deaths, unlike many nations who are either lacking the infrastructure to report the numbers properly or have a political agenda in supressing the actual numbers. So we will not see any siginificant difference if any in the numbers of COVID-19 deaths and the unaccounted excess deaths unlike so many countries.

Unfortunately the issue we have is that a very small percentage of people do not understand the virus, or are lacking empathy, they do not care about the health of others and are only out there for their own selfish wants and gains.
You know like the posters that were orignally and ignorantly parroting that shutdowns will devastate our economy, meanwhile willfully ignoring that not shutting down will be worse. ;)
I was in on vacation in Asia when this whole thing started and I can tell you that Canada has done a poor job in comparison. Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan implemented masks and contact tracing in mid/end Feb. they even took my temperature everytime I returned to the hotel. The government's inaction earlier in the year is a major contributing factor to our current predicament. Sure, we're a lot better off than the US but, so is almost every other developed nation.

I concur that willful ignorance and the blatant disregard for the well being of others is not helping the situation either.

I agree those countries have done better.
Understanding people’s selfishness plays a big role in the fight against this virus is very important.
Comparing Canada to those countries such as Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan where the populations outlook on the greater good of society is much better than us is comparing apples to oranges.

We got people here in Canada whining and complaining about strip clubs being forced to shutdown due to their own faults of non compliance and weeks after 2 different outbreaks.

Meanwhile in South Korea after an outbreak in a nightclub the following day they shutdown all of the nightclubs without any complaints from the people.

All one has to do is listen to the idiocy posted right here with fake claims and nonsense while downplaying the pandemic. This same type of thinking is making our numbers rise.
