Price is falling apart. Kovalev and Plekanac stopped scoring. series is still early, though.

Hmmm...the case of trading away Huet the goalie may come back to haunt the Habs big time. Whether this Price is right or wrong for the Habs will depends on how much he can master 'the force' as in the case of Luke Skywalker the young Jedi knight in Star Wars. May 'the force' be with him.

Montreal is having a difficult time scoring 5 on 5.

Price has not played well...while Biron has played extremely well.

I agree that Kovalev and the other "two sisters" have been "shy" for large stretches in this series.

And yes it is early yet...

...But I expect to see the FLYERS actually buckle down a bit in game four and NOT take the penalties they did in game three. It is what they did with Washington...play a very violent game three and see who is faint of heart for game four. Once you have a team backing of from the hits, you don't have to keep hitting them...just make it look like you will.

I have been impressed with some of the HABS players who were still "giving it back". Begen, Kostopoulos, Hamrlik, Komisarek most come to mind...

Why the hell are people giving it to Price and that he is not "bringing it"?

Are they watching the same game I am? He did not have a chance on the first two goals.

Everything else in the above post I agree with completely.

Sorry, I don't mean to nitpick but saying Price has not played well is ridiculous. Give the kid a break. He will be just fine.

They also did not look so hot on that 5 on 3 in the 1st period. If Hatcher doesn't make that bonehead hit in the 3rd and take a 5 minute major, I don't think it ends up that close. What a stupid thing to do. Dam near cost his team the game.

LOL...Love it. That was funny. I don't care what anyone says. If they watch the game and actually don't listen to the media, then he would be a much better goalie in most people's eyes.

I have not seen a goaltender in a long time at that age and is that good.

The Habs should have won last night with the amount of power plays they had last night. If they had won the game, Price would not have been given such a hard time.

he's a tremendous goalie. not the best in the game, but has potential.

Luongo, DiPietro, and MA Fleury are recent young goalies that have had similar high expectations put on them. difference being, Price is put in front of a team expected to contend for the cup.

and Price is young, but not baby fresh young. he's the same age as Crosby- an NHL captain.

Fleury and Ward both entered full time NHL duty at much younger.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't seen this thread until now. I am a huge Habs fan, and have been for as long as I cam remember.

So far, it's hard to feel bad about the situation the Habs have got themselves into. They did not play well against the Bruins, yet in game seven, when the chips were down they finally played to their ability.

They've played well against the flyers. Oddly enough, the 2 games they've outplayed the Flyers they've lost. Game 4 is a must win for the Habs. Hopefully they will make a few adjustments before then. For starters they need to get more traffic in front of Biron, and less traffic (especially their own bodies) in front of Price. Secondly, they need to stop dumping it all the time, especially on the PP. They're not getting to the puck in time, which lets Philly just dump it back out. They are good at working the puck in their opponent's zone, in close quarters, and along the boards. Also, by bringing the puck in the zone they can use their speed to force Philly to take more penalties.

I dunno, that's just my opinion. Go Habs, go!

I agree that Price hasn't been bad but he hasn't been great either... it is difficult to stop a puck if you don't see it, and the Richards goal changed angles on him on the way in when it caught one of his defenseman's skate. I think people are just seeing BIRON come up with some VERY big saves and thinking PRICE should be doing the same.

I think people underestimate the speed the Flyers have up front...and other than Hatcher and Smith their defense skates well.

I'll admit that the HABS have dominated this series at times but I'm not sure how much of that domination is the Flyers getting early leads and then trying to hold on to them...I say trying because they are only 4-3 in the playoffs this year when leading by two or more goals and almost gave up another one last night thanks to a bad penalty taken by Hatcher...that's a hit you make down three (if at all), not while protecting a lead. They were 30-1-1 during the regular season when leading by 2 or more. I guess it's natural for them to try to do that but it sure is giving my stomach a turn or two.

Sorry if I don't buy the "total domination" by the HABS, but they're only lead in this series has been the last shot of game one in OT. Teams play differently when they are behind versus leading games. Montreal will always clamp down if they get a lead in a game, while the Flyers will start being more agressive on the forecheck when behind.

7 playoffs wins in a row for the Penguins now

Interesting note that the habs coaching staff are keeping to themselves on who will start in goal come game time. Give the other kid a chance! Put Price back when the team loses again!

Okay, Les Habs, Aloha, Lionmacer, kirmit, elmo, pinkquack, where are you when they lose?

With games like tonight, do you really think Price should be rookie of the year? Maybe in the top 3, but "NOT" the winner.
He showed have been nominated that for sure. Maybe not win. Plus golies so much more then reg player I think. Way more preasure. Stop and think this is a just turned 20 yr old kid. Spends have a season as back up and thrown into the top level of play the sport has to offer he has done more swimming than sinking that for sure. Price is mentally tired I think. Only 20 but hey game 7 put them in this series. You will never see me crying Habs fan for life and this a young team with more to come next few yrs.
