Awww these rats are sweeties, they're very bright and for many years they've been finding mines in different countries.

Actually I saw Magawa on Jimmy Fallon a couple nights ago. Plucky little guy, soft spoken, doesn't make much of his remarkable accomplishment. Fallon asked the little rodent why he took those enormous risks for so little in return - maybe a little extra cheese for lunch or a few extra crackers.

Magawa said that he felt a sense of personal responsibility that his rat ancestors wiped out 50% of the population of Europe with the Black Death in 1350 and he just wanted to try and even things out on a positive note. You've got to respect that!
