Good evening everyone, had a question regarding income/child support. Does anyone know if benefets payed/received from the WSIB are calculated when determining a child support payment amount ? I ask becasue the CRA says that any benefets payed from the WSIB is considered as non-taxable.

Many thanks !!

WSIB payments may not be taxable but support payments are not a tax.

ALL income, taxable or not, is considered when calculating child support.

If your SO has a smart family lawyer and that lawyer finds out that you are receiving non taxable income, he/ she will immediately ask the judge to "gross up" your income for child support purposes to reflect that your income stream is "worth more" than ordinary wages.
