That photo was cropped from the famous Ellen Degenerous selfie photo the night of the academy awards

Well done Mr. Spacey.

I wonder how many mayor's there are in the world these days where you just say "Mayor so and so" and you know exactly who it is. I can't even remember who the new mayor of New York is, and I know the mayor of Chicago used to be White House Chief Of Staff, but isn't on the tip of my tongue. People in the US don't even have to say "Toronto Mayor Rob Ford" anymore, "Mayor Ford" works.

Ford's famous for being a drunk and for using crack, not for any good he's done. You are right that there are few mayors that have name recognition for doing good things. The only one I can think of is Rudolph Giuliani.

I get around.
Yes DanJ Toronto is the centre of the universe but there are other notable mayors whose names are not really that hard to remember.

Calgary's Mayor Nenshi is well-loved there and got national headlines for his response during the flooding.

Chicago's Rahm Emanuel is well liked and seems like a good leader for a city. Big supporter of the arts, and has a sense of humour.

None have Ford's presence, persona and certainly dont have women swooning over them. Im talking reasons why they are less known.

How many Washington major's do you know other than Marion Barry ? Do you know the Chicago mayor that followed Rod Blagojevich ? How about New York mayor candidate Anthony Weiner ?

If Rob Ford was doing his duty - Toronto would be renown as a beautiful city - not the home of a crack smoking, gang affiliated, drunken fat Chris Farley impersonator.

Other than gang members & crack addicts - it's hard to imagine anyone stepping forward to confess they admire this human train wreck.

Nenshi is well known all over Canada and I assume will leverage the outstanding job he has done for Calgary into a role on a larger stage. I can see him running for Premier, or moving into a significant Federal role. People respect him.

Ford is a clown and has made a name for himself by turning City Hall into a circus. Nobody wants that.

For one thing, he contracted out garbage collection away from the PSU and their blackmailing strikes.

But the anti-Ford camp only want to focus on his personal life/issues when criticizing him instead of his office record or what he tries to accomplish.

He did that in the first few months after he was elected. Then he alienated council and his crack smoking became a distraction. Since then he hasn't been able to accomplish anything.

Blaming his crack smoking being news on the "anti Ford camp" is pathetic. It made the world news and became the focus of city government.

Ford has to take any personal responsibility, not blame his poor behavior on his political adversaries, most of whom weren't adversaries until he alienated them.

Council voted 44 to 2 to strip his powers, it wasn't a "camp", it was everyone.

His record shows that he was a drunk crackhead who lied so often that he lost the confidence of council and his power now is down to attracting crowds while drunk.
That's Ford's doing.
Why would expect anything different from a lying crackhead the second time around?

Ford single handed privatized garbage collection ? Toronto city council voted 32-13 in favour of privatizing the city's garbage pickup of which Ford was one vote ! Ford championed the cause but he did not vote 32 times to get it passed. The Ford Nation - the remaining portion - have excused/ accepted drunk driving, crack smoking, drunken rages, gang affiliation - pathetic is an understatement.

On the plus side he was able to influence 44 members to vote together - they all agree not to work with him as they stripped his powers. Rob Ford can promise all he wants but without the support of the other members, he just a useless powerless figurehead just like the queen is Canada.

This latest misadventure should be enough to persuade voters that the Bumboclot Bros are an embarrassment to the city. They are out of their league taking on Kevin Spacey, he learned from the best.
