The accused appeared in court it was on youtube, the judge says he faces up to 10 years in prison. That's it, for taking away 2 lives.

I realize it's frustrating, but it's not murder. In the U.S and Canada, you can't put someone in jail for the rest of their lives for an accident, even if they caused the accident for doing something extremely stupid. Their stupidity gets them a possible 10 years unless your Marco Muzzo and your sentenced to 10 years but because your rich you barley do any of that time.

You have on one side a drunk idiots that kills 2 wonderful people. Everyone wants him jailed for life. which i understand.

Then a dictator ass hole decides to invade a country, get hundred of thousands people killed and half the US praise him.

Go figure why i now prefer to play with my dog, grow tomatoes and have the least amount of interaction with real people as possible.

Johnny Gaudreau's jersey number was 13. He was 31. Switch the numbers and you have 13. Just an observation

Matt Sundin wore 13 and is in the Hall of Fame. He's also way past 31. Just an observation.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm. In March 2016, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, along with a 12-year driving prohibition that began only upon his release.

Muzzo was released from a minimum security prison in May 2020 and has been living in an apartment at a community facility since then with special conditions, including a complete prohibition on alcohol possession.

Those special conditions are to be applied to his full parole, including no consumption of alcohol, avoiding drinking establishments, avoiding direct or indirect contact with his victims, and not attending Brampton or York Region, presenting a challenge for his plans about where to live and work in the future.

His statutory release date was June 18, 2022 and his warrant expiry date – the end of his sentence – is July 28, 2025.

I never like biking on roads for this reason. I wonder what happens to his contract or if it's mandatory for the NHLPA to have current wills for its players? I'm sure most 31 year olds don't. She's probably well looked after as you'd think he'd have at least 30 mil invested. I guess they don't have to pay it out or if it's insured.

His brother's wife has had a go fund me set up so they must be living frugal on a minor league salary.

Exactly, I agree with you completely.

With all due respect to Johnny Hockey and his brother, they are just two people. As someone who has recently lost a loved one I understand and am sympathetic to the ordeal their wives, children, families, and friends are enduring right now. By all accounts, Johnny was one of the nicest players you could ever meet, so there’s that too. However, it is disconcerting to see how huge of an outcry there has been over this situation in contrast to the shocking indifference many have shown to the tens or hundreds of thousands of lives lost in Ukraine and in other conflicts around the globe recently. It's appalling to see how our culture seems to value a person’s life based solely on their popularity.
