Fourth place finish in Iowa.

Under performed by 7 points to the polls.

May not even get a single delegate.

Steyer cutting into him in SC.

Bloomberg in the wings.

I think so.

I think the signs were there for several months. This was long before the Ukraine thing blowing up.

I believe he initially was a sentimental choice for older Democrats. He's not that good on the campaign trail. In the meantime, the Democrats got a chance to see the other choices.

Always dangerous to extrapolate from such a small, unrepresentative sample. But his trends don't seem great and his track record is of flaming out. (I thought he would have flamed out well before this but he clearly was more prepared than the last few times he ran )

If the current percentages hold, though, he would presumably end up with 7 delegates. (that is always tricky in Iowa since there are two more rounds before the national delegates get finalized )

(Last I checked, Buttigieg would get 12, Sanders 11, Warren 8, Biden 7, Klobuchar 6.)

The fact is that only three Presidents have won the Iowa Caucus and then gone on to win the Presidency. Carter, Bush and Obama.

So still a long way to go and a lot can occur in the meanwhile. So wait for all the results in the first 4 states, before making any ridiculous assumptions!!

It's not that ridiculous. Since 1972, the Democrats' top vote-getter in Iowa has gone on to win the nomination in seven out of 10 contested races.

Furthermore, only one candidate in either party has ever finished fourth and still managed to get the nomination (John McCain).

There's certainly no doubt that a number of leading Democrats are worried about Biden's chances.

I thought he’d make it comfortably to March but now I’m not so sure.

He is done. Time for the Clintons to swap him out for their next surrogate - Bloomberg. At least there's no chance he'll run out of money, and that's all that matters to the DNC.

Bloomberg is Clinton's surrogate now? And the DNC's presumably? Is he their puppet or is he the puppet master? I'm sorry, your conspiracy webs are very silly and complex and it is hard to keep straight what version of the Illuminati are in charge on any given day.

The DNC problem is they keep trying to control the process. They did it in 2016. But this time they can't.

Bloomberg is doing this all on his own. They need to realize this and that he is going to do what's best for Bloomberg.

I think unless someone runs away with it the convention is going to be a shit show that will make "68" look like a tea party.

Oh please, I have had enough of the tea party. How about: "will make 68 look like an uninspired blowjob by an overworked streetwalker"

If that's the case, 69 must have been awful.

Be patient. If and when he gets knocked out you can call him Joe Bidone.

I wasn't refering to "The Tea Party". But a tea party in. As in this convention if contested could end up worse than the riot in "68".

Warren has faded and I don’t see any path back.

Biden was wounded in Iowa, NH won’t help, his last stands are SC and NV. If he doesn’t crush the field in those he’s done.

The DNC will be in full panic, they don’t think the socialist can win, I don’t disagree.

The only other option is Bloomberg.

Mayor Pete will not be it. You want to hand the black vote to Trump put Pete on the ticket.

Warren just cancelled almost $400,000 in advertising in NV and SC. She may see the writing on the wall and decide to save the money for her Senate seat.

If that happens and she drops out after NH it will be a big bump to Sanders I think.

Will all depend on the first 4 counties. Again if Iowa has rarely elected a President who won the nominations there then that is not the real benchmark for predicting the final winner.

Remember that Biden has a huge support among the Blacks and Hispanics who are not a significant percentage of the population in this State.

Yes, unlike butler, I do think that Sanders will not appeal to the Moderates and the Republicans who are looking to switch their votes in the oncoming elections. According to butler he seems to think that Sanders will take down Trump. No doubt he is a smarter person with more facts during his debates, unlike Trump where the fact checks reveals inaccuracies galore. But Sanders policies will be a difficult sell as Trump will paint him as a Marxist / Socialist / Communist!!

And no candidate in either party has EVER won when they didn't win either Iowa or NH.

Which in all likely hood unless he wins NH Biden is toast.

And there is a large swaths of Left leaning candidates who gave been disengaged from politics since Bill Clinton turned the party to the right. Give them a candidate and they will come out.

Why would you want a candidate who appeals to Republican voters? It means you support Republican policy.

I don't.
