Funny no one seemed to notice...

...many did notice the lack of features on the iPhone4S though, yourself included, you didn't upgrade. lol

"Microsoft's Craig Mundie said that the iPhone's Siri voice recognition software is not new technology as a similar system has been available on the Windows Phone for over a year, and claims Apple marketed the capability to shift focus away from the iPhone 4S's lack of new features."

Even Johnathan Ive, (Apple's head designer) says Jobs claimed his ideas as his own.

From here:
"Even within Apple, Jobs was known for taking credit for others’ ideas. Jonathan Ive, the designer behind the iMac, the iPod, and the iPhone, tells Isaacson, “He will go through a process of looking at my ideas and say, ‘That’s no good. That’s not very good. I like that one.’ And later I will be sitting in the audience and he will be talking about it as if it was his idea.
Fuck!! That right there means Job's name should NOT even be on those Apple patents.

The man parked in handicapped spots, it says a lot about his character right there.
It's okay, it bit him in the ass, the know it all thought he could cure his cancer with juices.
Epic fail.

Microsoft says Windows Phones have had Siri-like functionality for over a year

Microsoft's Craig Mundie said that the iPhone's Siri voice recognition software is not new technology as a similar system has been available on the Windows Phone for over a year, and claims Apple marketed the capability to shift focus away from the iPhone 4S's lack of new features.

In an interview last week with Forbes, Microsoft Chief Research and Strategy Officer Craig Mundie said that Siri's capabilities are not Apple-specific, and notes that Windows Phone's similar "Tellme" technology has been functional for over a year.

"The Tellme facility's been in the Windows 7 phone for more than a year," Mundie said. "So I mean I just think people are infatuated with Apple announcing [Siri]."

Mundie goes on to say that Apple's marketing prowess is something that Microsoft could learn from, though he feels that the iPhone maker had to focus on the voice technology due to lack of new features on the iPhone 4S.

"In a sense, you know, many people were disappointed with [Apple's] newest phone because it wasn't a completely new thing, so the only thing they really had to hammer on was that feature," Mundie said. "Maybe we need to pick a feature and hammer on it harder."

The transition from Windows Mobile to the current Windows Phone platform has been difficult for Microsoft, said Mundie. The Redmond, Wash. tech giant had to overcome "errors" in moving from the old OS, which was targeted at enterprise users, to a new consumer driven model.

Mundie hopes that Windows Phone will become a major player in the mobile market, noting the recent partnership with Nokia is "huge" in making the the platform successful.

Windows phone 7 is beginning to pick up a little momentum, very good things written about "mango" and with Nokia on board next year with some excellent hardware it's going to be interesting to see how they are going to do.
Hmmmm.

You really need to vet this stuff before you post.

Like I said M$ wasn't in the phone and toy business. M$ is ubiquitous in the 'real world' something Apple couldn't match. So Apple gave up the PC and software business and moved to toys and phones counting on kids and Peter Pan types to pull them through....

LOL! Yet we still paid too much. I always felt that if something didn't work it wasn't a bargain not matter how little it cost.

Android had voice commands and speech to text a year earlier, now Apple has it a year later and better integrated into the actual OS.
So, now we'll see possibly see them (Android) up the ante next year, leap frog tech'.

I've pointed that exact point out in previous posts. Find something that does what you want/need it to do and buy it. If not, you can always fall back on Pekkerheads shopping techniques;

This is the weakness of the feature tic box mentality.... very prevalent around here from the less robust thinkers.

Yet, you still can't view flash based sites and I have zero problems.
Remember, it's not about being a "fan of flash" as you put it so eloquently, it's about the experience and tons of sites still use flash to this day.
Talk about robust thinking. lol
You let others do the thinking for you, in this case, Steve Jobs.

So...
Multi-task well yet? No.
Customize? Nope, sorry.
Controlled by the corporation? Yes.

Looks like it wasn't a bad Black Friday weekend for Apple:

75% of Apple stores sold out of iPhone 4S on Black Friday, iPad sales up 68%

By Neil Hughes

Published: 08:49 AM EST (05:49 AM PST)

Apple's Black Friday sales were a resounding success according to two separate accounts, which revealed that most of the company's retail stores sold out of the iPhone 4S on the biggest shopping day of the year.

Analyst Chris Whitmore with Deutsche Bank and his team of analysts checked with more than 200 stores on Black Friday to assess demand for Apple products, including the iPhone, iPad and Mac lineup. His checks included about 100 Apple retail stores and more than 100 AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Best Buy, Walmart and Target stores.

He found that about 75 percent of Apple retail stores polled were completely sold out of the iPhone 4S by the end of the day on Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. But Apple had restocked many of those stores by Saturday, as follow-up calls found that just 30 percent of Apple's stores remained sold out of the iPhone 4S.

At AT&T stores, Whitmore found that about 50 percent were sold out over the weekend as the carrier struggled to meet heavy demand. Stock-outs also occurred nationwide at Verizon, while Sprint was said to have had adequate inventory to keep up with demand.

Separately, Gene Munster with Piper Jaffray also polled Apple's retail stores on Black Friday, and discovered that iPad sales per hour were 68 percent higher than they were a year ago. He said the numbers support his projection of 13.5 million iPad units to be sold in Apple's December quarter.

Stores tracked by Munster sold an average of 14.8 iPads per hour, which was up from the 8.8 iPads sold per hour at Apple's retail stores on Black Friday in 2010.

I wonder how many of those will be pissed off when they realize that they can't view flash based sites? Poor fellas.
You know how sheep can get, they just flock and do as they're told.
Much like when someone caught the iPad video showing flash based content.

Otherwise, great web/device user experience.

If they weren't fine with it then you'd see a lot of returns and sales plummeting. Apparently, the lack of Flash is outweighed by other factors.

Dani, where the hell have you been? How are ya? Long time no see since the SD debate. How's life? Not cheesed off are ya? :)

Yes, the lack of flash is outweighed by heavy marketing and force fed to deal with the lack of flash.
No doubt, Apple makes a sleek product and markets it well and being that it was first in the game for a well integrated phone/browser/computer, etc... of course it's popular.
But many are realizing the other options are just as good.

But ya, SD... lol
