I woke up this morning as the sun was rising however burried behind the clouds it was. I looked down from my 10th floor view, at the mass of ice covering the trees, parking lots and walkways. The it happened. The first one came around the corner. He wasn't that big, maybe 5'9, but he hit hard. Right away the second one struck. She was carrying supplies and made a bigger mess when contact occured. I quickly brewed some coffee, lit a smoke and returned to the glass. From the far side came a group of 4 full force through the door. I could see bandanas and face cloths as they danced the ballet of trying not to fall. Balance was good but the uniforms held them back.
I feel guilty but poeple it's icy out there becareful

"Ladies and gentlemen here's my advice,
pull down your pants and slide on the ice."

Quick, who am I quoting here?

Between a rock and a hard place
I first read that poem in grade one in 1970 (do the math I'm 41) in a kids book of short poems called "A Rocket in My Pocket"

I first heard it spoken by Alan Arbus who played the recurring role of Dr. Sidney Friedman on MASH.
