Well, Doug isn't all that wonderful. Although no complaints about how he handled COVID.
I am seriously considering voting for Doug simply for his Covid response. It was not perfect, but he pissed off a lot of conservatives…. So he did something right.

You forgetting his refusal to vaccinate essential workers, to offer sick leave during covid, refusing to spend federal money to upgrade schools HVAC and the longest lockdown in North America?

His behavior from the onset of Covid was to offer full support of the Federal government and he refused to play politics, despite watching thousands of people die due to Trudeau's poor decision making.

Fortunately he led the way for provinces to manage the vaccination process once the Federal government finally delivered vaccinations.

No.

but Inwill give him credit for locking down & closing schools…. Especially when other Conservative held provinces and states went a different route.
Besides… Delduca has failed to impress me, and Horvath is a hard No.

I don’t even fault Trudeau as much others do. He had solid contracts with the drug companies, the companies mostly did their part…. And the European Union played protectionist politics in a crisis. There was no way around that.

Besides, Trudeau promised by Sept…. And almost everyone had access to 2 doses by then.

And Trudeau gave the country CERB, Dougie would have just said deal with it.

I give him some credit in the first wave where he (eventually) listened to experts and did what needed to be done. After that, he clearly dropped the ball. He knew there would be a serious second wave but he refused to spend on (or mandate) improvements to LTC homes. Coincidentally LTC companies were serious funders for him. He spent the summer ignoring the needs of schools in the second wave and sat on half a million rapid test kits instead of sending them out to schools. His 'lockdowns' allowed big box stores to stay open while punishing small business. Again, there seems to be a connection to donors. He knew that vaccines would be coming but did nothing to organize a distribution system, leaving public health units, hospitals, and medical clinics to implement their own system. His constant changing his mind (or speaking from his ass and having to backtrack) has also led to much confusion and distrust. The fact that he can't even get his own caucus vaccinated shows how weak he really is.

I guess we should be happy that he's not a Kenney or DeSantis and eventually listened to some of the people he ignored at the start but to me his performance would only be enough to get votes from people who would have seriously considered him otherwise.

You are not wrong.

For myself, I bottom line it. Politicians are bought and paid for. That will not change. Some by unions, some by corps. Some by banks...

Will he implement Mixed Member Proportional and commission a pop song to explain how it works?
