If I don’t change Ontario’s election law, I’ll resign as premier, Steven Del Duca promises

Because Liberals have never lied about electoral reform before...
By the way, of all the ways to change our electoral system, why go for ranked ballots? Proportional representation or mixed-member proportional representation is where it's at. He's just hoping that we'll adopt ranked ballots so that Liberals can stay in power forever because he thinks they'd be everyone's second choice due to them occupying the political centre.

Didn't Justin promise that in 2016?

He talks about that.

So the choice is between a promise of electoral reform and a shiny new, $6 billion highway and a new prison?
I'd still say no to Dougs.
You just can't stay on topic can you? :ROFLMAO: When you can't defend you try some half-assed deflection.

The graduated voting is novel, has it been tried elsewhere?

Well, Doug isn't all that wonderful. Although no complaints about how he handled COVID.

I disagree massively about PR. It creates party hacks with no direct responsibility to their local voters and a government relying on coalitions that fall regularly or are stuck pandering to the fringe parties.

p.s. It annoys me that the campaign has already started with elections 8 months away, just so the parties can circumvent election spending laws.

We'll see how much of his covid measures in the next 8 months are based purely on his campaign (as opposed to pandering to his corporate buddies as it's been so far).

Del Duca is one strange looking dude. He can speak and not move his mouth.

Only for 2 more months. Then nothing until it starts.

Yup becuause the cons refused to paticipate and he has more respect for our system then to ram it through
Lol. The commission he set up clearly showed Canadians wanted Proportional Representation. He wanted Ranked Ballot. So he canceled it. Thats what happened. Now Del Duca is trying the same thing, except this time voters are wise to the game.
