Yes 1% does not seem a lot except when you understand that 90% of police budgets are wages and benefits that are a contractual obligation so that leaves 10% for operations and investigations. That 1% starts to be very important.

1) The funding of the TPS in the budget is not set as the budget is not set yet .

2) If it were to be set at the budget committee recommended level, the TPS would be "defunded" by $12million, they would "overfunded" by $9million more than last year.
