Round of 16 predictions:
Canada vs Morocco - Allez Les Rouges! It's been a successful World Cup so far for Canada: first draw, first win, first hat-trick by Jonathon David, most goals scored in 1 match by a CONCACAF team at a World Cup, and Eustaquio's GOLAZO in stoppage time. I can see Canada putting up a solid fight, but it won't be enough; Morocco squeaks out a win. I hope I'm wrong.
Paraguay vs France - France is saying thanks for beating Germany and making it easier for us; another practice drill for France. France 4-0.
Portugal vs Spain - This will be a close one, probably extra time or PK. Spain will squeak out a win.
USA vs Belgium - At times, Belgium looks sleepy; the US can catch them asleep, take an early lead, and hang on to it. I pick the USA to win on home turf.
Brazil vs Norway - Can Brazil's defence stop Haaland? Can Brazil outscore Norway? Norway has holes in their defence that Brazil can exploit. I take Brazil on PKs.
Mexico vs England - This one is played in Mexico, and Mexico has only lost twice at Azteca Stadium in their entire history, a huge advantage for Mexico. The fans will be camped outside England's hotel, making noise and lighting fireworks all night to disrupt English players' sleep. I hope Harry Kane gets knighted and crowned. But I'm going to pick Mexico.
Argentina vs Egypt - Argentina, just when you think they can be beaten, they got a scare from Cabo Verde; somehow Argentina find a way to win.
Switzerland vs Colombia - Switzerland might benefit from not having to travel and an extra day of rest; this is a close one, I pick Colombia to squeak out a win.
